A couple years ago (2 or 3) there was a frontpage article by someone that showcased three small downloadable games. One of these games was flOw, the one where you are a microorganism and evolve and stuff, while another one was this galaga-esque game where you had to fight a boss over and over that every time would have new parts to combat your technique.

If anyone could find this article, or the second game, that would be awesome. I've been looking for it for ages and I've never managed to find it.

The Game is Warning Forever

The link to download is a little way down that page.

I remember reading about a web-based game, in which you fought web pages. Apparently the content, layout etc of a website generated a monster, which you could fight, loot and so forth. I read that it was taken down because it became too popular for the owner to maintain, and because people were custom-crafting web pages in order to get good loot etc.

I searched recently, and was unable to even find an article referencing this game, let alone the name or any details of the game itself.

Ambler posted:

Hmm, no that's not it, although thanks for reminding me of it!

It was specifically designed to generate content based on properties of other web pages. For example, you could plug google.com into it, and get a different monster than if you entered yahoo.com.

I'm beginning to think I dreamt up the whole concept.

It was called Unweb, and it was awesome. Here's a post-mortem by its designer.

I believe I was looking in a thread a long time ago with random cool things from history. One thing I enjoyed in particular was this artist who did portraits which had very modern "mannerisms." It was like the portrait subject was someone from now stuck in 19th century. This is probably the most vague description...anyone know what I'm talking about?

Haven't you ever heard of the healing power of laughter?
Recently, 2 people have asked me for a PC game I linked them to around 5 years ago. It was called 'Ballz' or 'Balls' and it was sort of like Marble Madness or Monkey Ball where you had to navigate a ball through a maze. One key detail is that when you started the game a voice would say, "You've got Ballz"

My buddies and I have searched on Google but can't seem to find it :/

Edit:
We found it :D

There was this really weird flash animation I was obsessed with years ago. I want to say around 98' or 99' maybe but the cartoon itself may have possibly been older than that. I can't remember the website or what the title of it was for the life of me but I remember it had some sort of German pokemon song as the background music. If anyone knows what I'm talking about I would love to see it again.

edit: For some reason I vaguely remember that Mr. Bean may have been in it although I may have it confused with another weird flash cartoon I found around the same time.

Hyakugojyuuichi has Mr. Bean in a couple spots, and it uses a Japanese Pokémon song. That may be it.

Not too terribly old, but I remember a site that would warp-uploaded faces in to different styles. I don't remember all of the options, but some of them were artists and/or art styles. The only art style I remember is Baroque but it also offered racial switches, gender switches and even a silly chimpanzee option. It's gotta be out there still, I just can't come up with the right combo of words to pull it up in google.

We might have had a thread about it in GBS too, but alas - no archives.

I've been looking for something that may have been a flash animation or maybe from some anime of some kind. At one point I thought it came from the flash tub here but haven't been able to locate it.

The narrator is talking about this giant monster/godzilla/t-rex like thing as we see it trampling its way through a city from afar. Every now and then, it shoots fire from it's mouth down at the city. After the narration finishes, the monster turns towards the viewer and shoots fire at the screen. This all takes place in the same frame of the city if I remember correctly.

If someone could find this, it would be awesome.

I remember seeing this really cool animated short linked here on the forums a while back. It was set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future, sort of like a nuclear winter, and it showed a household built around a kind of robot-servant.

The main part of the story was that the robot kept doing all the daily chores, like making dinner and washing up, even though all the members of the family had died a long time a go. The only family member left was the dog, and if I remember correctly the dog too dies in one scene throughout the movie. It was pretty short, and it might have been a bit old. I think i saw it on Google Video when it was posted, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Anyway, I've been looking for it for a while now, but i can't seem to find anything. Perhaps anyone here knows anything about it?
