I use both, I let it auto for a while but then I manual run deeper because auto was resetting far too often. The new auto spending should help it be better, but even still it resets constantly and later in you're getting so little actual gain per run. Going from 380x->390x isn't worth a reset when next run will give you way more than double that.

The challenges seem kinda meh at this point. They're just a bit too slow or annoying and the rewards don't seem like they'll push much further in any way, at least once obvious ones (1st 24 hour, etc) are done. I'd rather wait and pump magic beards for a while and be able to pound out a challenge in like 10 minutes in a month or whenever. Plus the AP will be better then.

Yea IA still has huge issues at higher numbers, I just prestiged with 2.5e10 PP1 and it locks up trying to auto spend them. Manually spending them would take thousands of clicks. Really feels like the game completely breaks down when you hit PP4.

I've got pp5 and it only gets worse. E: The automation also gets actively worse each tier you unlock. I could spend PP2 on the first run after unlocking PP5, but it would be far more efficient to spend PP1 and do another run. The good(?) news is i completely skipped pp6 by saving about 6000 before prestiging, and went straight to pp7. I dont know why I'm still going at this but the core loop is now - 2 minutes of combat - enable autobuyers for the right layer - manually prestige - disable autobuyers with the right layer going 1 2 1 3 1 2 1 4 1 2 1 3 1 2 1 5 1 2 1 3 1 2 1 3 1 2 1 4 1 2 1 3 1 2 1 etc.

Factory money pretty much only matters for Balor, who can't trade and can really use the money. (Whether this is actually helpful or not depends on whether or not there are soldiers ready to go a'lootin and a'pillagin for money that way.)

And after a certain point that's no longer a problem too. Maybe worth getting one or two Luxury Goods if you're trading heavily early on in the metagame but after a certain point your Plasmid production boost overshadows the amount you can get from there. It's like powering Casino's for more income: exists but there's always better options.

Everything's better with Plasmids (and some Phage). It's funny how the first run or two you're scrounging for everything, carefully balancing resources over expenditure (lookin' at you coal). I've got like 760 plasmids and 90ish Phage and it's just, never assign farmers, build a million power plants who cares. Still need to trade in space phase for iridium and such but soon even those will fall in line. I find I do like two resets and then get tired of the game, then a week later I open it again. The midgame of needing a full load of knowledge for each of 70 researches, but it fills up in 2.5 minutes is pretty tedious though. I also seem to always quit right after a prestige so when an update hits I need to build a whole goddamn civilization to see the content. Derp.

IA has got to be the idler with the least things to do and the least amount of features i have seen so far. I somehow managed to last until PP2, prestiging at that point reset my pp1 to 0 (keeping the unlockables but not the stat boosts) so the dev essentially invited me to close the tab at that point.

lmao there was an update to IA and the offline progress I got from it instantly pushed me to floor 81 and prestige layer 12. Maybe I'll play the game with a new save again in a few weeks, given how often the dev updates
