You can use Ignis 'regroup' skill to get everyone out of combat quick, though tbh it does so little damage to your bros I don't really worry about it.

For me it's less the damage and more hearing them in pain. I'm so sorry bros but maybe don't run into the quintcast firaga.

Cindy would be a fine character if they gave her a design that didn't walk out of a porno.

Also if they had translated her name as Sidney, come on guys, the joke is RIGHT THERE.

Her name basically is Sidney in Japanese so they deliberately decided against that for some reason.

Yeah, Deadeye is a complete joke. They literally sell you a fire-element sword for Glad at the Chocobo place so he can reliably hit him for 9999 damage.

You can always drive the car yourself. Everybody makes big deal out of how you can drive 'manual' after chapter 3, but there's no real big difference between auto and manual. You still have control during auto and the car still stays on the road during manual. The only real difference is there's a meter at the top showing you the travel distance.

FAUXTON posted:

It'd be more fun to drive if the car was louder and faster. Yeah I get that it's allegedly unbecoming of royalty to have straight pipes and 1500bhp going 200mph doing donuts through Hammerhead but guess what happened to the goddamn royalty

There's a poo poo-ton of car upgrade quests. My next quest is for a supercharger that makes the car go faster. So... do quests.

Also Cid explains that the Empire has been kinda closed off for trade and that's made it hard to get access to machinery and special parts.

Well, that aligns with the vibes I was getting. Which was, like, "normal" kinda vibes.
Square Enix support sent me replacement codes for the Roadtrip DLC packs. After playing some without the bonuses, I'm almost afraid that the travel coupons are going to break the game. I'm already level 29 in Chapter 3 with plenty left to do, and if I can bring the Golden Quay hotel price down to 5,000 gil over and over without any repercussion, I don't think Ignis will ever get to practice his cooking. Getting a stack of EXP and then doing hunts to earn 10k for the 2x EXP bonus was a nice objective to follow for a while, but now it feels like cheating.

I think I've gamed enough levels for the chapter I'm in, though, and should probably worry less about doubling my experience and more about camping when convenient.

Eh. There's another inn near the Golden Quay which is 1.5 for 300 (150 with the coupon) so at best you're getting a little extra experience for way more money. The experience curve in this game is hosed.

Deadeye in the Duscae demo wasn't really meant to be beaten without the Ramuh Summon. I took him down around level 60, but it took me over a whole (in-game) day to do so, and when he hits 25% HP he flips the gently caress out and starts attacking so aggressively you can't even get near him without Armiger.

Where # is the FF with a protagonist from Balamb Garden.

Mage Mashers (FFIX) & Camera Kit:
#DE8-CQNR-F3FD
Where # is the first letter of Cid's wife's name from FFIX.

Blazefire Saber (FFXIII) & Gourmand Set:

In true nerd fashion, I am grinding all of the tech abilities to their highest levels for the biggest crit chance. Last night after a few hours of playing, I was having some weird visual artifacts but only with Ignis's Mark tech. It almost looked like my GPU was overheating, but I couldn't reproduce it with any other abilities. It looked distinctly different from what Mark usually looks like. If it happens again I will try taking a picture with the console's share function. Has anyone else had similar issues or should I be worried about my PS4?
