As opposed to Keith Starmer, who is a far right Angle.

Sure, although given he's also coming out hard against free movement he's working hard on the hat trick, it's just very funny seeing it visualized in graph form.

I mean there is a running joke on Twitter that if you find a guy posting about how the left needs to get in line with Starmer and the New Labour project you can find a post from them in 2019 saying they're joining the CUK's or voting Lib Dem for a reason. TheRat posted:Isn't Hislop fairly close to Helen Lewis? He's quite close to a lot of awful people in journalism, what with working in British Journalism. If politics is show business for ugly people, Ian Hislop is Perez Hilton for politics. A messy bitch who loves the drama but also demands to be respected for it. Had his colours marked from the Leveson enquiry where he quite clearly knew about all the awful stuff that the press had done but still demanded no action be taken because the awful poo poo he knew about had "Been uncovered by British Journalism". Which it hadn't. It got uncovered by a guy deleting the messages of a murder victim, giving false hope to the families and when that came out it was a desperate poo poo flinging match between all the papers to make sure everyone was just as covered as them.

Hislop is one of those tragic boomers that thinks he's being anti establishment and punk rock but doesn't realise they're just a boring gossip-mongering contrarian. No thought, no genuine wit, just sneering at everything for money. It's a job, I suppose. And yes, proper galling to see him try and paint himself as a respectable bastion of journalism when it came to Leveson. Anyone claiming that kind of integrity ought really to take ownership of their own mistakes like the MMR thing,

There is a line in the story about him deleting the contents of his phone minutes before he was arrested. Which means either the cops came in sirens blazing and he did it then. Or he got a last minute tip off that he was about to be arrested and destroyed his phone then.

You can never stop all violence - while this guy was an actual cop, nothing he did was unachievable by anyone wanting to commit such a crime, and there's no way to fully protect yourself without never going outside - most measures are about making people feel safer rather than being safer, because there's very little you can do to make people proactively safe, only reactive after the fact.
