Unless I want to go to a lovely local show, it's anywhere from an hour and a half from home to three hours from school.

Tell me about it, I've gotten used to having to drive 3 hours to Cleveland anytime I want to see a decent band play, except for the one time BTMI! played in my hometown (Dayton) about 2 years ago. I'm going to have to drive to Detroit to see Godspeed You! Black Emperor in March, so I hope it'll be worth it.

I can't take them seriously after reading the plea (on their website) to German fans to loan them amps for a continental tour.

Glad we got that settled then.

Anyway, it has zero influence on their music, which still owns because Jeff is loving rad and we really need to get him to play here.

It's a common practice for touring bands to borrow or rent equipment when traveling overseas.

Nobody wants to pay to fly a thousand pounds worth of gear across the ocean or have a tour held up while waiting for a cargo ship to cross the ocean.

That's not stopping me from going, and I live in Delaware.

And I get to see BtMI play in Philly on Sunday. I didn't get to see them at all last year (I think they only played in Philly twice, both were bring your own band shows), so I'm pretty excited.

Also, not bringing amps overseas and borrowing them from wherever is punk as gently caress.

And I'd imagine that when you recorded an album for fifty bucks, it's kinda hard to pay to ship all that gear.

All ears, all eyes, all the time!
They release everything for free. Cut them some slack for having the audacity to ask if they could bum some equipment so they could play shows and (hopefully) break even.

The Piebald namedrop in the new song made me smile.

Man I ain't got money and they were in this insane used section, which is the reason I actually found gently caress World Trade in a legit store in the first place.

Also, gently caress crusties. Being smelly does not make you punk, it makes you gross.

My record shop always had them in stock, too bad for you. Also I just hate FYE.

I don't have a local record shop anymore. Haven't since I moved back home from NC. I'm pretty much limited to hitting up chain stores and the internet when I want tunes.

e: Also this store has an insane selection of used music, and when I go when there's a sale (Like today, buy one used get one for a buck) I can clean up like whoa for thirty bucks. Mediocre Generica was the only thing I bought new.

Anyone else go see Bomb in Philly last night? I was working their merch table most of the night, so if you have a time machine jump back and come say hey. They've definitely played better before, but it was still a good time. I took a few videos but didn't get in until almost 3 so I haven't had a chance to check them out.

also heard a demo of a new new new btmi! song and it is craaaazy

I don't think so, to either of those questions. If you're on Facebook and comment on the event page you'll probably get an answer from one of the band members.
