I tried these a couple years back and it was a little scary that you could honestly taste individual toppings. Pickles, mustard, meat, etc.

There are cucumber-flavored Lays here in China that are SWEET. It's truly god-awful. Also, when I lived in Canada, I could never get behind ketchup chips. Pickle chips were okay, but then I went to the movie once and they had pickle-flavored powder to shake on your popcorn and I was like, this is a bridge too loving far, man!

Things always get a little nuts around Christmas here. Don't have a pic anymore but Pringles did a chocolate mint flavour one year, I declined to try them.

Also meat pie flavour which they release every winter in Australia; they always taste like gravy but horribly fake and greasy Also these abominations. They're sort of 'fancy' so there's always a bag of them on the table whenever you go to a party and I think they taste absolutely disgusting.

A couple of people have said that they liked the late-night cheeseburger Doritos. Years back when Doritos was doing mystery-flavor bags we got one that turned out to be Burger King Whopper flavor. They were hideous. I took them to work and passed them around and I have never seen so many people put a food into their mouth and then instantly spit it out onto the ground.

Honestly the chip flavours here are not even that unusual for Japan. Here, for example If the pictures don't give it away, from left to right these are toast flavour, milk flavour and apple flavour. All savoury. They tasted ok tbh

Agreed with the poster above me who was kind of surprised that they actually tasted like meat, mustard, and pickles, which was not what I was hoping for and sort of disgusting. I was happy that they brought back pizza doritos, which I loved when I was a kid, but for whatever reason they made the bags 1/2 pizza doritos and 1/2 ranch doritos, which in addition to tasting super gross is only conceptually appealing if you're the kind of person who eats pizza with ranch.

Speaking of snack food flavours, I tried some of those new "improved" barbecue Shapes recently, and I was really surprised by them, because they claim to have more flavour but actually seemed to have much less. I think because with the old style ones it was all one the outside (and only on one side of each biscuit) so you got it all in one place, so the new ones might have had more but it was spread all over (and through) them. It was weird though. And the new flavour is crap too.

Are those elderberry and prosecco/Christmas pudding chips just gimmick flavors, like the turkey and gravy Jones sodas they put out around Thanksgiving time here, or are they meant as serious additions to the chips range?

From 1980's UK. The legend goes that they were originally flavoured with pork fat, until the maker got sued because they weren't hedgehog flavoured. So they got some Romany to help develop a true hedgehog flavour, as supposedly Romany people still ate clay baked hedgehogs.

I don't understand what a builders breakfast is, but egg flavor on chips sounds just horrible. Those cajun squirrel chips are amazing though. Actually squirrel is just good eating, just gotta spend some serious time working around bones. We make squirrel and hog stew every year for Fourth of July here in rural Texas. Sometimes Mema misses a squirrel skull and it ends up in your bowl.

I've tried the wasabi () and the bacon Mac and cheese (OK, pretty bland) and I really wish i had the courage to taste the cappuccino one. Salsa one was probably OK, just never saw it. Though I did try the cinnamon bun one and that one tasted like salty cinnamon toast crunch.

These two flavors were available in Belgium last winter, I tried both. Surprisingly, the Bratwurst one was pretty decent in moderate amounts. The Cheese Fondue one was almost cheesier than Cheetos, and kinda terrible.
