You know what, I didn't expect to like this movie. The previews looked just ridiculous, and while I seem to be the only male who doesn't really care for Denise Richards, somehow I got pushed into seeing it.

I liked it. It had a definite campy feel to everything, and I loved the facist-nationalistic overtones, like the "Become a citizen today!" ads intersparsed with multiple "Would you like to know more" queries. Michael Ironsides was great as the hardened rough and ready leader, and Jake Busey was creepy in his huge smile kind of way. Doogie Howser was kinda geeky, and it was a cringe to hear him say "He's afraid!"

Overall, this movie was fun and enjoyable, and had some pretty interesting fight scenes.

4/5
