So, I mean, as a new-ish rider, what was that? Was that just target fixation and unwillingness to turn/lean the bike enough to take the corner?

I only ask because I had something similar earlier this week where I took a turn and realized I was taking it wider than I wanted. I recognized my target fixation looking at my "final destination :dings:" -- straight ahead instead of where I wanted to go. Turned my head, countersteered and leaned my bike more, desperately avoided my initial instinct to brake hard, and it turned out okay but if I had been going an unsightly speed outside my comfort zone I can easily see how that would have gone badly for me.

- I should look into some sort of vibration-reduction options. The camera does some really trippy poo poo when the bike is shaking - it's not unwatchable but it could be better.

I’ve been looking into 3D printing a vibration reduction standoff coupling of some sort for my RAM mount. I pulled over to launch Waze on my phone mounted to my handlebars and it was literally like a game controller vibrating at full blast non-stop as soon as I touched it. It’s a good thing it’s a spare phone because I’m 100% certain the camera mechanism will be dead in under a month.

That body position looks more comfortable than the majority of the I4s. The rearsets aren't shoved up under your rear end at least. And like with the I4s, they all look a lot worse than they really are.

In general, angular designs seem to age better than any others

I don’t disagree, but even looking at my own ‘18 NInja 650 vs my ‘11 Ninja 250 it feels like we’ve gone somewhat backwards. Subjectively, I think the mid to late 2000s had the best meld of .. conservative styling and angular plastic (?). Of course, I won’t need to hold my breath until someone posts some 2006 monstrosity that completely blows my argument out of the water.

Or the last gen Katana that was designed with the philosophy of “What if: weird bug shape, but also half chewed cough drop??”, probably.

There was a different photographer, referenced in that first guy's story, that was caught in an ash cloud and realized he'd never make it out so he carefully rewound the film and laid on top of his camera so the photos would survive. Sad :(
