Apparently Pierre Terblanche, of Ducati 999 and Multistrada fame, is at Moto Guzzi now. These are some of his creations.

Apparently some dude named crash died a few years back, so they do these memorial day rides. Including shutting down the freeway.

And loving up stencils:

Good job guys! Nothing like causing what probably amounted to an hour of traffic backup to pull some lovely wheelies and burnouts and shoot a stencil upsidedown!

This is the story I read from someone who allegedly knew "Crash". "Crash" crashed two years ago and subsequently lost his business. He also couldn't work anymore so his wife had to carry all of the financial burden. He had apparently had enough and killed himself the day before Memorial Day. Just for the record, I don't read stunter forums. I read this at a gun forum.

They should put up a low clearance obstacle that trucks won't fit through at the beginning of that section.

I thought that it was just a police car sitting in a field. I was expecting a bike to roll over the hood in the last three seconds. Apparently my browser has a problem with the LL player.

They're a bunch of sportbike riders and they've not taken too kindly to me so far, but whatever. They roll out in huge groups and frequently post about people crashing so I'm not sure I want to know them that well anyway.

I joined TX Sportbike Assoc a few years ago and found the same thing. I went to one of the local meetings but didn't really like the vibe. Reading the forum after one of their SMRs (Sunday Morning Rides) would reveal talk of crashes almost every weekend. There were also a few fatalities and severe injuries. I prefer to ride alone or with no more than four others.

If any of you guys have an iPhone there's an app that will overlay driving data over video. It's $4.99 and it's called TrackAddict HD. It will add speed, a map, G-force and time to the video. There are four different overlay types too.

Here's a sample taken in the WRX. Haven't tried it on the Hypermotard yet.

Except that that could be out of the test ride handbook of Aprilia, Ducati, Bimota, Radical, or any one of dozens of other bike makers out there. Anyone who believes that motorcycling doesn't have an ingrained posing ideology wrapped up in it's very creation is lying to themselves. Some makers of bikes sell more on that than anything else, but to cast off the chance to ride one brand for that while readily fapping over exotic Italian brands or one off customs is painfully myopic.

I agree with the above statement. I see Ducati as the second largest "motorcycle lifestyle" company. Have you seen a Ducati apparel fashion show? That's what I hate the most about being a Ducati owner.

I was watching some Guy Martin videos and didn't realize that he was not a pro moto-racer. He says he still prefers working on trucks for his day job which explains why his hands and fingernails are always filthy. So I found this video of him visiting Orange Bikes still wearing his Scania coveralls. He tries his hand at TIG welding, powder coating, and bike assembly. I usually don't have a problem with accents but then... Guy Martin. He seems like an insanely, genuinely nice guy. it's a long video but well worth the watch.
