Fantastic thread.

Unfortunately streetfire has expired, and I would love to see some of the flicks that Vitamin J posted.

Specifically the ITB'd S2, and the V10 M3.

I made a heroic wade through ytube, but couldn't dig up any matches.

Anyone?

That is one of my favorite videos (mostly for 964 content). I have a lead on a DVD of the entire 1993 Carrera Cup season, but the guy that has it has been too busy to convert it to divx and post it for download :argh:

It's crazy to think that all of those cars are now in private hands, and most are still being raced. There are three or four people that I can think of off the top of my head that race their Cup Cars almost every other weekend.

To contribute, this is a pretty cool in-car video of, if I had to guess, a not so stock RoW 964RS.

They are holding their weight up with their arms so their feet just skim over the asphalt, same concept as "skitching" off of a motorcycle.

Just found that awesome clip on my harddrive again:

Wikipedia posted:

C'était un rendez-vous (It was an appointment) is a short film made in 1976 by Claude Lelouch, showing an eight-minute drive through Paris at 5:30 AM.

Despite (or due to) the limited availability of video tapes, it gained cult status over the years among motoring enthusiasts who admired the experience of speed and the reckless style of driving[1].

Due to the increasing popularity and the lack of original tapes, the film has recently been re-mastered from the 35 mm negative and released on DVD, as well as being published on the Internet.

This example of a cinéma vérité film was made in a single take with no editing, using a camera attached to the bumper of a car. The length of the film thus was limited by the capacity of the camera reel which lasted under 10 minutes.

I don't believe it. The road must be covered in oil or something. They don't seem to be holding much weight on their arms the way they are holding on, or they should have arms like Popeye.
