Many people think Forza's Nordsliefe is a better replication than GT4, but GT4's is more accurate in size, Forza's is about 1 mile shorter.

There's a ton of cars in this game, I've been runiing an SRT10 around the Ring, and now a Z06 and a C6. Anyone have a request for a car? I bet there's a few cars I'd have trouble keeping on the track.

Got anything like the GSX-R/4? One hundred and fourty SCREAMING BEES of torque :v: This is the first 4:32 of my 6:16 run. It was taken with a lovely camara designed for photos, not video, and it's memcard filled up at 4:32. My new graphics card came with a whole bunch of extra cables so I'm gonna see if I can plug my PS2 into my PC and use fraps to get a better quality version, with the full 6:16.

The GT4 version of Nurburgring is so drat bumpy, it's hard to follow the racing line because your entire car can jump sideways several feet at any given time. You just gotta kinda strap your self in and hope when you land, you're pointing in a direction that's not heading towards some trees :v:

A truck hit them on the passenger side. The door just ripped loose and crumpled into the passenger compartment. If anyone had been sitting in the passenger seat they would be dead.

Usually, the door is supposed to remain in contact with the frame and the whole frame bends, reducing the penetration into the passenger area.

VVV My tires are getting flatspotted just watching that.

Yeah, I've seen this footage before, but with some kinda voice over. Also, rally drivers are crazy. But the FANS are even more bonkers. One wrong twist or wiggle in a turn and the body count could climb upwards of 50 people. Witness:

Those Group B cars really get me hot. Steel tube and fiberglass never got so good. WRC is rather lame compared to driving one of those crazy fuckers in a rally.

I had some serious flash backs from my childhood watching Group B rallies on TV.

Edit: Here's what happened to Henri Toivonen in the last year of Group B. At about the 2:30 mark they show the charred remains of his car so you can see that it was essentially steel tubes and stuff on top to make it look like a car.

The King of Swag posted:

I hate to say it but I have been and still am guilty of this (albeit at slower speeds), although I always do it in places that rarely have anyone on them and never leave my lane. Matter of fact, I recorded a slower short run once just to see how well a camera mounted on a tripod in the car (without actually being mounted to anything) would work: cut-out link

Turns out it works, although a little shakey. My biggest problem ended up being the head of the tripod swerving on really tight turns and I couldn't tighten it enough by hand.

As I said though, this is extremely stupid. I only averaged about 50mph and hit a maximum of about 65 in my video, and I've gone faster on that same road on different runs, but that is still far faster than is safe for that road or any mountain road.

That said, while you take your life in your hands whenever you do something like that, you shouldn't feel bad if you hurt someone who is oncoming in your lane, as I've never seen a 2-lane mountain road that didn't have signs every ten feet about no passing. Ever. Passing when you shouldn't is a pet peeve of mine along with not using your blinker.

Edit: I removed the url simply because I don't want anyone to think I'm proud of it, which I'm not. I just like the twisties too much for my own good :(

Second Edit: Reading the comments left by that guy, apparently he was using km/h instead of mph so he was actually averaging about 50mph the whole time. Seemed faster than that, but apparently not.

I used to do stupid poo poo like that in my lowered 3rd gen Maxima. I had a close call with an oncoming truck when I misjudged a corner and went over the double yellow which scared me straight. I used to push my old maxima to 80+ on a rather twisty road with a 50mph limit. I've taken my Miata along the same road a few times, but I usually keep it under 65.
