I really want to see this tech succeed. If the numbers aren't fudged it stands to benefit manufacturers and consumers alike with benefits also to the environment.

Less parts means less repair costs typically. I would bet that as long as the central systems stayed in good shape it would be close to trivial to replace a valve in one of these things, since you wouldn't have to adjust timing fix valve trains or gently caress with anything else.

Yeah not to be a killjoy I just feel awful for everyone in those situations. There's a person confronting their impending loss of independence, at best; at worst, someone completely out of control of one of most dangerous items in everyday use.

I guess I just haven't reached saturation and I can respect anyone still busting knuckles on poo poo; and additionally I think a layman's view of repairing exotics is an unusual perspective for me.

I'm not immune to liking things goons can't stand though.

Michelin themselves claim that their tires are so well balanced from the factory that they don't come with a mark for the heavy point anymore at least.

Anecdotally, however, my wife's Yoko all-seasons and my all-terrains feel way loving smoother and quieter than Michelin's stiff-rear end, loud-rear end "sport touring" tires ever were, so maybe roundness isn't everything Michelin.

Maybe stick to rating restaurants or something.

I've always had Michelins on every car and motorcycle, summer and winter, alloy and steel, never had any issues. Energy, Alpin and Primacy.

The only set of tires I regretted putting on a car were Hankooks, they dry-rotted after two years.

Continental is probably the only other brand I'd take without hesitation.

They were fine tires they just were way louder than anything from anyone else reputable, and the ones we picked were marketed as quiet.
