A 900 ton truck.

450 metric tons or about 496 short tons. 900 tons would be more than double the current largest truck. Still a big loving truck and if it's reliable it will be pretty formidable.

Cat, Komatsu, and Liebherr for reference.

It weights 900 tons fully loaded I think is what T meant to say.
Also two 65-litre 16-cylinder diesel engines, each with 2300 horsepower

It would be 810 metric or about 891 short tons so that could be. Payload capacity and up time are the only numbers that anyone in the industry really cares about.

What has 850HP, nearly 3,000 lb/ft torque, weighs ~2,200 lbs, hits 100mph in 5 seconds, has Chris Harris driving it and yet is kinda boring to watch?

This Drayson B12/69EV:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_cRqcbXAs4

I didn't realize how important engine and exhaust noise was to the whole experience. The thing hauls rear end and is extremely impressive in every technical way but I would rather watch him drive a Miata.

I think I agree. My favorite Top Gear segments are the cheap car challenges which is basically what Roadkill is but Freiburger and Finnegan are so much better at it in every way.

Finnegan owns.

That bit made the 18 hours or whatever I spent watching the live feed worth it. Two or three other cars had fired up and driven out of the convention center before they started the Camaro and no one cared. Then they started it up for the first time after wrenching on it for three days (did anyone think they wouldn't!?) and that lady got all huffy and stormed off. Then when they decide to start it up one more time for giggles she just happened to be walking over towards them anyway and Finnegan reacted in the only way he knows how.

Roadkill continuing to be the best thing on youtube and probably the best car show on anything.

I like that the McLaren dude that's probably not been away from that car for more than a day or two during its whole development still gets a poo poo eating grin on his face when the go pedal gets pushed.

I would like to see how well the Crusher Camaro can handle corners with proper tires but really that episode went entirely too well considering the circumstances so I'm happy as gently caress regardless.

It's been said before, but if I could only ever watch two car-related shows ever, they would be Roadkill and Chris Harris on Cars.
Completely agree with this.

Drive, apart from Chris Harris and the occasional Inside video, really, really REALLY sucks. Especially when loving Leo Parente hosts a video - what a windbag.
I think Matt Farah is tolerable and often pretty entertaining though I generally just don't give a poo poo about the cars his show is about.

Makes sense considering most of their cars don't have anything resembling functioning brakes. Roadkill prioritizes going fast over stopping to a hilarious and terrifying degree.

The next question is, would you pay $14K for a Gremlin? If you could jump into a time machine, go back to 1972 and even hint that a Gremlin would someday be worth this kind of dough, you’d probably be met with gales of laughter.
Looks like that author has never heard of inflation because $3000 in 1972 is approximately $17,000 in 2014 :ironicat:

Although flood damage would explain some things he ordered that car with some very specific options that make it unlikely that it was one sitting on a lot. I'm guessing he picked it up within a day or two of it entering the US.

e: thousands of dollars in loving stitching for example.

e2: that sounded a lot more harsh than I intended. The stitching on that car does look nice and if you've got the funds and desire to customize your car to that degree then by all means. I'm more irritated at Porsche's option pricing but that's hardly a new complaint.

From the video description:

Me and MR2 gen 3 turbo time attack at melaka international circuit(MIMC)

1st lap was a warm up and the 2 following laps were flying lap time attack

I clocked a novice time off 1 minute 14 seconds. Overall it was a great day but i was unable to push my car to the limits due to clutch having air in the system and undercarriage scraping issues

3s-gte 245 gen 3
Greddy ECU
SARD R2D2 Blow off valve
TRD ori forged racing 17inch rims
Walbro racing fuel pump
Custom turbo back exhaust
Exedy fiber Racing clutch and housing
Turbosmart Boost controller
Takata Racing harness 5 and 4 point
Gen 3 brake pump
Racing drilled and slotted brake rotors
Turboback Custom exhaust with dual tips
Buddy Club adjustable racing coilover suspension

So one mystery partially solved. Doesn't explain why he kept driving it around the track.
