At 2.05 in the video it switches to an in-car view, can someone tell me what the deal is with the gears are on that monster? It looks like he's pulling 3 separate levers, one for each gear change...

These must take an unreal amount of planning to layout and figure out just which layer is going on in which order. Also the shop's bill for masking tape must be truly next level.

Amazing.

I didn't realize how important engine and exhaust noise was to the whole experience. The thing hauls rear end and is extremely impressive in every technical way but I would rather watch him drive a Miata.

It's like watching a film with the volume on mute. Sound is more than half of the film, if you watch sad things without the string soundtrack they tend to be far less effective. The human brain is weird like that.

Binky is such an outrageously ambitious project, there's some truly next level engineering going on with that car it's no wonder it's taking forever. That and they still have to run a business... I reckon it'll be next summer before we see it completed.

Due to this discussion I watched a few Schmee vids. He just seems to exist to prattle on about a bunch of bullshit that nobody in their right mind should care about, the cars he drives get a bit of a mention, they're always great, he always enjoys it but nothing actually happens much in them. He goes for a tootle to places... I get the idea he doesn't know much about cars or knows how to drive any of the weapons he has properly so you get this dumpy little fat-tongued dweeb talking a bunch of shite for 20 minutes or half an hour at a time.

...but then this is youtube and a lot of 'popular' channels are utter shite.

Every time I go in it I just smile, it's such a ridiculous car in 2016, a tin box with tiny pillars and a side exit exhaust that makes so much noise. It's not fast at all but outside of supercars there's not really much that has the sort of road presence of a sparkly old shitbox bwarping its way down the road.

I guess they play to their market being related to Hot Rod mag. I'd love to see them piss about with something a little less common to them though. And I also want Roadkill to get a rotary...

I like Mighty Car Mods, I like Moog and Marty, I like their projects, I tolerate Moog trying to sell music by adding it at every opportunity he can during the show but at this point the project videos are being dragged out more than loving Dragonball Z. Entire 20 minute episodes pass with the most minimal amount of work goes on. 5 different camera angles to put on an air filter... It's like the anti-Binky where you get a single episode every few months but a whole load of important poo poo happens.

He replied to one of the comments on one of thw youtube videos or instagram ones and says he's no longer working for Hotrod but still writes articles for other mags/sites. Also on the youtube vid comments he says he's currently filming 2 episodes for Roadkill so apparently it doesn't affect that much.

He mentions the drag boat in one of the videos, reckons he'll get 2000hp out of the twin-turbo V8 and says it'll do more if he wants but he wants to have fun and not die. Like a 2000hp boat isn't enough to die a million deaths in.
