This CTS-V launches hard enough to think that it's been in an accident.

Cat Terrist posted:On cars that cant really get much pace going, it's kinda overkill with the very low chance it will actually be needed. I don't think it's as much to do with the speed of the accident as it is with the frequency of the accidents. LeMons isn't full of people who don't know how to drive - it's full of people who think they know how to drive but don't. Which is way worse.

Enjoyable video, well-edited and it did have some interesting shots. Any idea what it was shot with? I'm going to take a wild guess and say an EOS 5D MkII because that seems to be everybody's go-to camera for (relatively) inexpensive high-quality HD stuff but obviously Vimeo isn't the greatest venue on which to judge that.meatpimp posted:Advertising for monetary support of a "drifter" in AI? Is it an unwritten law that all 4-rotor Mazda clips have to be short, terrible quality and poorly shot? I mean besides 787 stuff and even those aren't too common.

Number_6 posted:What the gently caress is wrong with people like this? No matter how drunk or hosed up you are, you gotta notice all the cars passing you in the other direction. Suicide is the only reasonable explanation I can think of. I could almost kind of see it in socal only because the carpool lanes have double yellows separating them from the regular traffic lanes (which as far as I can tell violates what the DMV/caltrans says about lane marker colors) but yeah she must have been pretty hammered.

mobby_6kl posted:Yeah at this point it looks like the cop is the one going the wrong way, though maybe it's because we thankfully don't carpool lanes here. Yeah but those lines are white, which indicates that it is a lane separator from another lane that is going in the same direction. That would be a hell of a desperate attempt from the lawyer, but might as well I guess!

kimbo305 posted:The description says the big cam almost pushes the valve spring to coil bind. It doesn't look close to that. Is there some other condition that qualifies coil binding? I dunno, in the first part of the video the valve spring looks like it's close to binding to me.

kimbo305 posted:I'm no MechE, so correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't coil bind happen when contact is made between consecutive coils? Even at its most compressed, there seems like like at least one wire diameter between coils. You're right about what coil bind is, and I still think it's close to getting there: I think it's the funky lighting but the way it oscillates so much faster when it's fully compressed tells me that it's close.

Seems like when the driver's not trying to run over spectators, the car's trying to light them on fire.
