Vitamin J posted:Porsche Carerra Cup 1993, hilarious That is one of my favorite videos (mostly for 964 content). I have a lead on a DVD of the entire 1993 Carrera Cup season, but the guy that has it has been too busy to convert it to divx and post it for download It's crazy to think that all of those cars are now in private hands, and most are still being raced. There are three or four people that I can think of off the top of my head that race their Cup Cars almost every other weekend. To contribute, this is a pretty cool in-car video of, if I had to guess, a not so stock RoW 964RS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4w0FqC5vTVg

Space Gopher posted:I wonder if that's the Ring Taxi or something. The driver sounds sort of like a tour guide humoring stupid assholes - and the cameraman/narrator definitely qualifies for that in spades. Plus, the "BMV" thing screams "tourist" - it's pretty obvious that he doesn't speak German well if at all, and is trying to fake it. Did they have M5 ring taxis back in 1996?

VBH is just .... grrr... why don't they have someone competent on hand to actually put the cars through their paces? Like, oh, I don't know, an ex-touring car racer, or maybe that other racer fellow who also happens to host the show? Are you sure that wasn't just 5th gear trying to imitate all the drivers from SIARPC? She started racing when she was a kid, and as far as I know, still is. Now, if you were to say that her voice is grating and annoying, that would be a valid complaint.

Dude deserves the 2nd degree burns he received, now he'd like you to help him pay for the medical bills because his work didn't have insurance and, and, and: https://www.crowdtilt.com/campaigns/chevy-350-miata-fire/contributors "My name is shawn prince and i am 23 years old. I was/am building a Mazda miata drift car powered by a small block Chevy 350. I was super excited to start it.... I could not start with exhaust manifolds because they would not fit. I have to make my own.... But aside from that, I mounted in the car, via modified subframe and hooked a hoist on the rear to keep the engine level.... I hooked up all the fuel lines and gave it a go.... Resulted in a horrendous fire where I got 1st and 2nd degree burns all over my left arm and leg...the reason for the fire is ignition timing was off and fuel pressure at the regulator was too high.... I killed fuel and spark and I kept turning the engine over so it would suck the fire back into the engine therefore extinguishing the fire but that didn't work and I did not have a fire extinguisher so I grabbed the hose....I do not have insurance with my employer so that is why I am creating this.... to help me pay the burn clinic to treat me for my misfortune and for the time I am missing at my job to make money so I can live.Any donations are more than welcome and much appreciated. Thank you."
