I just got through World War Z and Alas, Babylon. I'm now reading The Road; I guess I'm on an apocalyptic binge. World War Z was... readable. I guess I was expecting more. It's more of a collection of short stories, almost of sound bite size, of different situations around the world during the zombie plauge, but not very cohesive. If anyone wants to read a similar style story (but much better in my opinion), check out War Day, a 1980s-era post-apocalyptic tale of two reporters that travel around the US documenting the aftermath. Alas, Babylon was just what I've read elsewhere, the classic post nuclear war story.
