Beaver Patrol posted:Jesus, I can't believe I forgot that. Now I gotta re read the comic again. The quoted comic, along with the current strip, have convinced me that Belkar is about to bite it. Miko, for all intents and purposes, has just killed a NPC. If she slaughters an entertaining and in this case, helpless PC? Well, that will really turn everyone against her. Hopefully what Belkar is saying is true, but I'm still worried

That was a pretty funny strip. If anyone ever gets a Roy avatar, it needs the title text "Whine, whine, whine, I'm Roy and I want more plot points!"

SuperKlaus posted:I'm still of the opinion that it serves the grand story arc well for the heroes to suffer a major setback here. Roy dying isn't a big enough setback for you? That was an awesome new strip; but there's one thing I'm confused about. Now, forgive me because I know bugger all about D&D outside of C64 games, but those paladins all killed each other in a fit of insanity; how can they be martyrs? They didn't martyr themselves, they slaughtered each other!

I admit, once I started reading #600 and saw Roy making his goodbyes I thought "Holy crap, Roy's coming back!" but then we all got swerved with that ending. And I laughed. Without a ridiculous number of speech bubbles in sight. Just a good ol' "ha ha" gag
