Looking for a band that I think is called Ben ______ Beach or something. I heard it on an Okinawa radio station in Naha that was completely in English. The music was kind of like listening to Logistics with vocals, I was reminded of a faster Fatboy Slim. Really chill music. I'm pretty sure the band name had the word Beach in it but I was lying down in the middle of a living room really drunk and when I woke up all I remembered was that I wanted to listen to it again.

There was no Japanese in the song. I think it might have been called "Closer". I've tried googling like crazy but can't find anything

edit: Just searched for another hour. Driving me crazy :-(. I'm trying to find radio logs of Okinawa radio stations to find out what was playing yesterday.

Found it! It was Ben Westbeech.

Sounds almost like an intro to a trance song almost, but could just be an instrumental or a variation of a classical song

Here's a sample:

You need divx or right click/save as...

It sounds like the first part of Pavane in F-sharp minor, op. 50 by Gabriel Fauré. Check that.

Good suggestion, but nope.

On a side note, I always figured Paparazzi by Xzibit had to be previously sampled from somewhere. That solves it.

I had this song in my head for the longest time and I can't seem to figure out who it's by. All I can remember is this guitar riff and the style in which the singer sings. I believe it's classic rock. Some bands that remind me of the song are Ten Years After, Deep Purple, and Savoy Brown.

I am pretty sure the song I am trying to locate is done by Spoon.

I tried to remember the lyrics as I listened on the way to work but I've forgotton them by now, many hours later. Any Spoon fans (assuming I am correct) will know it right away by the opening, middle, and ending which all have someone pounding out the same rough chord on their acoustic guitar for about 10 seconds. I didn't recognize it from "A Series of Sneaks" or "Gimme Fiction." I can't find my Kill the Moonlight album. It may be from their upcoming release. It was awesome.

Post all your song identification requests here, hopefully we can get people to identify them.

I'll start it off, I heard this song on tv, it was pop/punkish with a lot of distortion on the main riff, and high-pitched lyrics that were drat near incomprehensible to me.

The only way I can possibly describe this song is through its main riff, if it were transcribed into words it would be: "dah dah dahdahdahdaaah duntsknahnahnahnah" the song also began with an "five six seven eight!" or something similar.

I'm not sure why I have the song stuck in my head, but now I must find it. Goons, please save my brain.

This may be hopeless since I don't have a lot to give you guys here, but I was listening to our local alternative station (weqx out of vermont/ny if it helps I guess) and heard a song they hadn't played before (or played yet while I've listened).

It only caught my attention because the vocals sounded a lot like this band I like, the Return, and I even remembered in my head some lyrics, but by time I had gotten home I had forgotten all about it... anyway, what I do have is what the guys voice sounded like. The chorus sounded very similar (vocally) to: http://superloo.us/robots/thelifeyoulive.mp3 (just a snippet of a chorus, sorry about the whole files thing)

Any help would be lovely

Not that I know of...I wouldn't even know how to begin looking for a cleaner clip. There are only a few clips of that event on youtube and this is the only one with that track. I tried googling some of the lyrics and it came up with about 7 or 8 different rap songs, none of which seem right. I also looked up Amanda Blank and she doesn't sound Jamaican enough...

Anybody else have any idea?

Yeah, she's not Jamaican, I couldn't make out the voice so well so I was just going by the beat and it sounds like a track of hers. Ah well. That was my one shot.

This poppy dance song that has a tune vaguely similar to the boss theme from Sonic 2 in a different key. Female vocals, and the only lyrics I can recall are "Three, two, one, and I'm having fun" which was part of the chorus.

I saw this video a few years back on MTV, and one of the main things that I can remember about it is that it was awesome.

The video had a lot of flashing lights, and there were only two people in the band, a bassist and a drummer. There was a hell of a lot of distortion on the bass as well. I can't remember anything else about the band, but I hope some more learned music goons will be able to help.

Okay. I'm pretty sure this was on an episode of Beavis and Butthead way back when, but I know I've heard it pop up in a few places since, like car commercials or something. It's a very upbeat, poppy song, mostly acoustic guitar if I remember correctly. The chorus was full of big harmonies and there was a lyric about "the roooooo-o-o-oad" at the end of it.

This'll probably help more than anything else -- I remember that the video featured a bunch of attractive "soccer mom" type ladies in professional outfits pushing strollers around the town. The babies inside of the strollers had the heads of the band members instead of infant faces. I specifically remember Beavis freaking out and yelling "AHHHH!" the first time one of the babies was shown.

Any ideas?

And no, it's not Aphex Twin.

Don't think I've ever seen the video, but I can't think of too many bass/drums duos that even had MTV videos more than a couple years back. Could it have been Godheadsilo? Lightning Bolt, maybe? Both groups had/have some seriously distorted bass, although I don't know if they ever shot a video. The other groups that sprung to mind were Cop Shoot Cop and Morphine, although neither groups are technically duos.
