Hey,

I had a song randomly pop in my head and I've googled the hell out of it no no avail bugging the poo poo out of me.

It was probably early 2000's and was like an electronic dance track. It had a woman whispering "start the burn" (I think?) throughout the verse kinda bits and it then breaks into this synth stabby bit which kinda builds up with more instruments playing the same tune.

I think the music video was like muted tones and was a woman on her own in a gym or boxing ring being all out of breath etc.

Heres a lovely rendition of the synth stabby bit

Thanks!

E: got it after trawling through similar youtube 2000s club songs till I recognised a thumbnail - if anyone's interested its "time to burn" by storm, what an awful time the early 00's were.

It's been stuck in my head for an hour. The first part of the lick has a bit more complexity, but that's most of it.

Is it classical gas?

Its a Cure song, late 80's/early 90's album track that either starts or ends with a tinkly scratchy little piano tune, any ideas?

First thing that came to mind was close to me, piano is at like 30 secs.

Not as tinkly as I remembered, but perhaps I was remembering the Kaki King cover.

Nope - English artist... really quite upbeat music. Can't even remember the content. Video was definitely filmed on a narrow-boat or canal barge though.

There's a tune that starts at 31 seconds and I know I've heard it in some other music. Sound familiar to anyone else?

A bunch of songs have used the same sample

Yeah, I could see that, or maybe some White Stripes song. Nothing in particular comes to mind, though.

I'm trying to think of what song that I've heard recently has had this big-band style descending pattern. I know it's probably been used a lot, but I think I heard it in a movie or commercial recently. I've recreated it on a sequencer, though the piece I'm thinking of is a bit slower and more jazzy. (Also that site doesn't seem to load properly for me unless I change browsers, so apologies if it doesn't work.)

Sounds like feeling good to me?

does anyone know the electronic track that samples "it's a new dawn, it's a new day... it's a new life for me... and i'm feeling good"

and it uses the sound in this mix at 39:01 (this track seems to be a remix of the song I'm thinking of)

My 2nd feeling good identification of the page :classiclol:

I think its Titty Twister by Viper, the main melody in that Fatboy Slim thing kicks in at like 2:25ish?

A long-rear end time ago I saw a gif of a dude (I think he was black) eating bills of money. The dude was (at least part) real, the money was cartoon animated, think Run the Jewels (the clip). It was part of a French rap music video, I think some more animated stuff happens including some black goop trying to take over. It was shot in a bleak old industrial place, like a closed down factory. Anyone have any clue?

That brings back memories

Hey, looking for a song... was very popular as a base for a meme a few years back (around 2015-2018 I think...)

Starts with a single acoustic with some simple strumming

Launches into a bass and electric riff after a couple of bars.

I think it was a "get rekt" meme or a "how did I get here" sort of thing.

Roundabout by yes perhaps?
