Hey, I used to work for ConsumerReports which has pretty good stuff. I now work for US News on their car ranking site, which has the advantage over CR of being free to view. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/ We're pulling lots of information from different sources and summarizing. I think it's useful. No forums (yet), but I'd appreciate input from car enthusiasts if there's anything you love or hate.

Here's one. http://www.spyderchat.com - For the MR2 Spyder (00-05)... Has a few ricers, but for the most part has a lot of quality posting regarding swaps, suspension specifics, and autocrossing. Probably the best car specific forum I've run across, though, that may change as the car gets more accessible.

I would add one thing to the ticket post (which is one of the better I've seen on the internet, though I would note that this stuff varies pretty widely by state): Read (and understand) the statute you're accused of violating. Not doing this is the most common mistake I've seen in traffic court. If you bring up "reasonable and prudent" in a state with a strict liability speed limit, you're going to fail. And if you do it in negotiation, it is over. The prosecutor now knows they'll win, easily. Oh and if you have time to kill, go watch traffic court. You'll find out which judges are easy, which are nice. How to make judges like you and all that stuff. In my county, there's one Judge who is extremely skeptical of traffic tickets with even very minor flaws. If you know this, you can press for a drat good deal with the knowledge that if you fail, your odds of winning are still pretty high.

A good resourse I use every day is https://www.obdii.com It allows you to check obdII codes by manufacturer and has a list of common acronyms and jargon. If you dont want emails from them just put jibberish in the name and email boxes and it'll still work

I'm actually looking for a resource but couldnt seem to find it in the thread. It was a new car buyers guide, writtten by someone from an automotive forum(maybe one of the bmw ones). It basically outlined the steps one should take in order to get the best price on a new car through a dealership. If anyone has this or could post it up, it would help me out and be a great resource.

a friend mine from work put together a kind of neat website: https://www.carmechanic.ca (also https://www.mecanicienauto.ca for the frenchies) basically it's a search engine for finding mechanics, dealers, parts shops, etc. locally or in a given city. Handy if you're stranded in some place (with internet access) and need to find the nearest mechanic or whatever. Anyway, thought I'd share, maybe it'll be useful to someone. Only lists stuff in Canada though, so not much use to you guys south of the border.

3000GT/Stealth NA/Turbo 6G72 Love 3sx.com - One of the last places you can find stock 3kGT/stealth parts. They sell a 60k service package which includes water pump, belt tensioner pulley, and timing belt. They also make their own downpipes for both NA and Turbo charged applications. Prices are reasonable. 3SI.com - a tresure trove of information about the 3000GT and Dodge Stealth. I do not have a lot of experience with their forums but they do have a wiki. 3rd Gen Eclipse or "So it's like a DSM that got fat and slow" Club3G.com - It has the service manual for the entire 3rd gen line up that can be downloaded for free. The forum has a part review/ vendor review subforum so you can see people risk their vehicle's on eBay parts so you don't have to. Most of the populace seems pretty well informed, but there seem to be a few ricer kids in the group. Tearstone.com - a good selection of parts for the Eclipse and Dodge Stratus. Kind of pricey in comparison to other sites depending on what you are looking for. also has a selection of parts for the other generations of Eclipse. For people who like print Project Car is a pretty slick magazine. They take fairly afforable cars (mostly japanese but they have been working on a few US, and german cars), shows in detail step by step the work they do with pictures. They tend to favor the 240sx a little too much.

Basically it's the lock/chain/anchor independent testing company that rate how easy it is to break the various security devices on the market. And if anyone knows how to steal a bike, it's a dutch junkie.
