Grindhouse theaters actually showed a really wide range of genres. They showed their share of trashy sexploitation flicks, but they really only cared about what was cheap to show. You could actually see some decent foreign films if you didn't mind sitting through no-budget stuff like The Defiance of Good or Death Bed. Half the audience didn't care what was onscreen, they were just looking for a place to sleep/shoot-up/get a blowjob/etc... I love most of these submissions, but if you want to get technical, the style of many of them is more like the B-Movies of the 40's and 50's rather than the late 60's - early 80's when the grindhouse theaters were in their prime. But who cares, this is an amazing thread.
