Kind of a odd question but I got a Grundig G6 a few years ago and the rubberized coating on it has started detonating into a sticky mess, and it's really disgusting. Any suggestions on how to clean it up?

I got a Grundig Satellit 700 from a yard sale, I figured for $15 it was a decent gamble. Tried it with some D-Cells and a 9 volt adapter I had but all that happens is static coming from the speaker and it doesn't turn on.

Any suggestions?

I have a Grundig G6 that had the same sticky issue, rubbing alcohol cleaned it up good.

Tecsun seems to be the main brand now. I'm planning on eventually picking up a PL-880 myself.
