I think the story is going to take some big turns at this Elfhelm place. Some of the biggest progression since well....the eclipse? :v:
Hopefully we get some serious progress on the main story, I mean I love the small storylines, but I want some big push for the main part.

Puck knows about Guts' past, he has seen Guts' memories/feeling a few times enough to know about the Eclipse and Caska's "incident". Puck prolly knows about the whole Band of the Hawk thing too if he can put things together. Besides him I think Serpico will figure it out eventually if not told, he does have a very extensive knowledge of all military dealings in the recent past and in the current time. Guts' has made a vague reference to his past when Ishidro mentioned the raider leader for the Hawks once in that huge city.

Hopefully Miura can keep going full-steam for a long while.
At least until Idolmaster 2 comes out.

Anyone else notice he is starting to draw Guts differently? It looked like he slimmed down Guts' face in some of the panels in the newest chapter.

I still think that the Golden Age Arc should have been longer. It was the best part of the manga in my opinion.

I think all of Guts has been slimmed down, since using the armor is thinning him out considerably.

When he got on the ship initially it really showed. Just this last chapter it seems Miura thinned down his face quite a bit.

Has anyone read any of the Sci-Fi novels that Miura used as inspiration for naming the God Hand? I was reading Do Android Dream Of Electric Sheep the other day and noticed Phillip K. Dick also wrote Ubik. I remember looking up all the novels to the corresponding names awhile ago. I think I might go pick up Ubik after I finish my current read.

EDIT: Does anyone else find the Skullknight.net boards absolutely frustrating? I'll pop in occasionally but always leave in disgust. It's mostly due to a few spergy mods with 10,000+ posts, who fancy themselves absolute experts on anything Berserk-related, and chastise anyone who comes up with theories that they don't subscribe to.
Absolutely. I used to post on there quite often before Azhalaleheal went completely :spergin:. I got my girlfriend into Berserk when we started dating and she made an account maybe a year ago and started posting in the speculation section. I guess one of her posts set off Azhalehal's aspergers and he actually PMed her telling her off.

I wish Puck would have stayed as a weird little naked elf that made people think I was reading gay comic books than the weird little onion thing he is now. I prefer my Berserk black and depressing.

Also, I am wondering how much is exactly going to make it into the movies, and if the movies will catch up to the current content since Miura is apparently dead.

He's not dead. He's just got an unhealthy obsession with something called The Idolmaster and an eroge adaptation of the Romance Of The Three Kingdoms

I read this as Miura was working on an eroge, then I thought about how hosed that entire game would be. Then I also realized I would probably play it just because Miura had a hand in it and out of morbid curiosity:(

I think I have said this before in this thread, but SK is awful. Azaualleus or however the hell he spells that name is insane. I used to read the theory section until I saw him shitposting 24/7 acting as The Right Hand of Kentaro Miura.

That sword thing. Never occurred to me until now.

Gotz gets brought up a lot as an inspiration but that isn't true, Miura actually had no idea Gotz existed until after he created Berserk. Oddly enough most of the influences and inspirations were from science fiction books and film. Which by the way, Slan is a fantastic book. I can never pull myself through Ubik though.

It is the 11th question. http://www.thespectrum.net/berserk_info_creator.shtml

The King of Bavaria posted:

I am putting a panel together on Berserk at an up coming anime convention. I have never done a panel before and every presentation I have given was to a military. audience I have a good idea where I am going with it, I would like some suggestions on what I should include or what could make it more interesting. Right now I have background information, what the series is about, info about the author, what makes the series worth reading/watching, discussion of the more philosophical aspects of the series, some good video clips to include, and section about humorous antidotes set to the theme of "Things I learned from Berserk". I have 90 mins to fill and am doing my damnest to not have this be a death by PowerPoint Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've done a few Berserk panels before in the past and they usually turn out okay, but since a lot of the fans are gigantic spergs about the series you have to be careful or else poo poo gets out of hand. I've had people try to argue with me or others about small stupid things that are unconfirmed like Zodd's ambitions or his horn. My advice would be to generally avoid open discussion and save the theory discussion for last because poo poo will get out of hand fast. If you start on something about Zodd/Void's relationship with Skullknight it escalates pretty fast which is cool, but it will eat up most of your time from a single topic. I've tried getting a discussion going about the deeper aspects of Berserk my main interest was how the art reflected the loss of humanity and acceptance of beastial nature in Guts and the discussion NEVER took off. I've done with this several panels over different subjects and it's always met with an icy response. I'm just kind of posting about my general experience here, feel free to try it yourself. If you can get that poo poo going that's great, I just never could. Everyone seemed more interested in sharing their take or theory on who is going to use Puck's little green egg or if Caska was going to man the gently caress up and kill Griffith. A really interesting one to bring up is everyone's theory on how the series will end. Some people's theories are actually really interesting.

Generally most people that will attend the panel have already watched the anime, films, and read the manga in it's entirety so you're pretty good with just a short five minute THIS IS BERSERK INTRO then telling the Berserk newbies you're about to drop some series ruining spoilers. I was usually complimented on running the panel like a discussion afterwards by staff and some of the attendees, but be warned it can get out of hand really fast. Other than that it's really interesting to talk about it, I wouldn't suggest focusing on presenting information on Kentaro or the series too much since everyone attending likely has an encyclopedic knowledge of the series, just get people talking and it'll be good.

With all the fan comics of other popular series, how have a group of enraged and bitter Berserk fans not banded together to put together a doujin series continuing the story? Even they only released at Comiket their schedule would be better than Miura's.

I think everyone is still in a holding pattern to see if they actually adapt anything more, but I have no idea how the Golden Age films did financially.

I always thought I remembered it being they were going to adapt the full series, but then the three films were kind of shoddy and everything just vanished after that. Not even any news about what the gently caress happened.

The fight with the fake apostles in the tower.

I loved how Guts was drawn almost move for move in those two page spreads. Anything from 20-27 is the best poo poo in Berserk. I always thought the art was the best during those volumes.
