The obvious play is to have Caska's presence gently caress with Griffith's brain in the middle of the Troll King fight. That could be fun.

Mangastream always adds fanart. For most other series, I hate it, but I feel blessed that Berserk has a lot of truly spectacular fanart to choose from.

Yeah as good as GA is, black swordsman also manages to turn all of GA into a surreal fantasy mystery. You see demonic imagery like the tree of hanged corpses and you keep wondering when that first behelit is going to finally show up.

I’d say the amount of work has been consistent, but the amount of work and detail that goes into each page has been steadily growing.

I choose to believe he’s drawing Casca and Guts kissing for 200 pages with uncomfortably high detail.

Put wind magic on the giant sword so it’s very easy to swing and maybe also let Casca surf on it????

Wyald is a real piece of poo poo but he works for that part of the storyline perfectly. Every single panel with him shows that the world is changing in demonic ways.

I think wyald ruins things if the story just ends at the eclipse, because zodd alone gives it more mystery and shock. But wyald is needed if you’re transitioning into a fully hosed up berserk story with the lost children arc and the tower of god arc and the Kushan invasion arc and all the crazy witch stuff.

Skull knight is still my favorite character though. Cutting him out is by far the biggest problem with the 97 anime.

Waiting for scanlations from EG was definitely worth it. Lots of good social commentary in this episode. Ruflux posted:Has the princess de-aged or something or did Miura just forget how to draw her because she looks pretty off-model and way younger than before to me? Griffith is kind of wonky in a couple of panels too. At least the nearly insanely meticulous detail work is still there, just look at that table or the text on the scrolls, god drat I noticed that too. You’d think Griffith was the one living on Elf Island, what with everyone slowly morphing into pouty-lipped bishonen characters.

Seems very cool. Miura is probably “rebelling against mythology” by mashing a lot of gods and myths together. Pretty sure usumgallah is a famous monster in Babylon. Pan is obviously the Greek name for goat-creatures like that. Yogurt and cheese seem to be brand new inventions.

See, I don’t think it is pointless. I think it refers to those stupid naked baby cherubs the Church always makes statues and paintings of. I don’t know why drawing naked angels is okay, but it’s very common in lots of religions. Pan the goat-boy is equally naked, as per his standard Greek mythology depictions.
