http://www.rockabilly.us/ I don't know which is worse, the site design, the almost defensive self-defeating promoting, the fact that "bargain" tickets cost $18, or the show itself. This site is for a 50s and 60s variety show now showing around central Florida, in yet another attempt to turn Orlando into Branson. quote:Our Elvis segment of our shows (that segment is only in the full-length shows... not in matinees) is NOT an 'impersonation' of Elvis! We do not in ANY way attempt to impersonate him. There was only ONE Elvis, and no one else can come even close! The suits and other aspects of the costume are ONLY for nostalgia's sake. Elvis' music is done with great care and effort, in an attempt to honor the "KING OF ROCK AND ROLL". We use the same high impact arrangements that Elvis used, and all performers attempt to get the sound as close as possible to Elvis' live performances in the 1970s. The Elvis Tribute even starts and ends very much like the Elvis shows of the 1970s. Performers do NOT parody nor in any way make fun of any aspect of Elvis or his music. We DO have some things we do which are exclusively our own (Elvis did not do), such as tossing the embroidered 'Elvis-type' scarves out to the audience wrapped around the necks of little soft Teddy Bears. That is a very popular aspect of our show which the audiences love! This is the kind of sad strange musical production they perform on cruise ships in order to get everybody out of the dining rooms in order to clean them. I'm surprised to know anyone under the age of 60 was involved. The Banana Pee fucked around with this message at 18:00 on Dec 31, 2007 |
