He might have, but I seem to remember that he was gone), and a gay caller kept getting the "You're gay" drops from Anderson. I swear to god he must have gone through ten variations on it. Like 3 different "You're gay," a couple of different "He's gay" and a "They're gay" were all thrown in.

I also remember another caller that kept dropping the word "STEPFATHER" in every few seconds. Adam and Drew ripped her a new one, and it was the last soundbite at the end of the show as well.

The DAG show where they spent the first 30 minutes talking about how his long-time girlfriend was cheating on him (I think that was it) had its moments but it was also rather uncomfortable, and I wanted them to move on with the show.

EDIT: I guess I feel the same way with the Lightning Round, it can produce some good humor but I easily empathize with Drew as he tries to slog through the last segment.

They don't make fun of him during this episode. Drew and guest mention it early on and he dismisses it fairly quickly. Not nearly as much amusement as we wish comes from the entire situation.

This guy knew how to roll with it, and was a great sport. I'd even go so far to say that he's most likely not an idiot like most, which is bordering on atypical for Loveline callers. 1 time in 25+ years isn't a great record.

More to your point, there was a great caller I wish I could find again. He was some younger guy in the navy, living on an aircraft carrier. Adam got talking to him about what the carrier ran on fuel-wise and this exchange came up...

Adam: Is it a nuclear engine?
Caller: Huh?
Adam: Does it run on nuclear power? Is it coal, steam, solar, what powers it?
Caller: Oh, it runs on steam.
Adam: Right, but what generates that heat?
Caller: Fire.
Adam: Look retard, I know fire is hot. Where does the fire come from?
Caller: A flame, we just light it like a match.
Adam: WHAT DO YOU LIGHT WITH A MATCH???
Caller: The fire. It burns and makes steam out of the water to power....
Adam: STOP. STOP. STOP. Now listen. I understand the mechanics of how fire burns and water and steam and turbines and all that. All I want to know is where the fire comes from. What is burning to make the fire that runs your ship? Don't say fire, don't say steam, don't say a flame, now what is it???
Caller: Fuel.
Adam:
Drew: Adam, you should have seen this coming. You know how hard it is for our callers.

edit - To answer your other question, I remember the guy you're talking about, but don't remember when it was. I'll see if I can find it though.

The last really brilliant episode I remember is Steel Panther on May 20th. They're a semi-satirical metal band but they aren't playing characters or anything, they're just incredibly funny and quick witted. The last 20 minutes of this episode where they play "who the gently caress sells this poo poo" is probably the funniest bit that's ever been on the podcast.
