My favorite loveline moment was when Adam was singing the NO CANNOT HAVE song over the System of a Down song. I was literally in tears after hearing it. I downloaded the episode randomly this afternoon and there it was. I think the funniest part though is at around 5:30, where Adam does an impression of Andy Griffith explaining football.

2009 is going to be a rough year for me listening to ACS @ work with headphones, since Brian seems to be as in love with the new NOTHING!!! drop as I am.
I choked every time he played it.

On the opposite end of rough is Teresa mentioning being "off the Yaz" every 5 god drat minutes. I know I'm in the minority being a Teresa fan, but this may change as the Yaz poo poo is already unbearable.

I do like Teresa, I think her oversensitivity is an excellent contrast to Adam and as was mentioned before she keeps the show on focus when Adam's off topic rants threaten to take over. She's good with the "How say you?" callers. She's also had a decent education and keeps up on books and current events, which again is something Adam's show needs since he is clueless in all these areas.
At first I didn't like her largely because of her bullshit filler news segments. After her legendary fight with DAG where she snapped and admitted that she didn't like reading the news + didn't want to read the news + didn't give a poo poo about celebrity gossip + was only doing it because it's her job and it makes Adam funnier, I respected her more and now I feel bad for her during the news segments.

But seriously this off the Yaz/trying for pregnancy poo poo is tired already and it's only been a month. At the same time I fear her taking pregnancy leave and them replacing her with someone horrible.

I tune out when she's speaking most of the time, so I'm not familiar; what's the deal with her upbringing? Just how lovely was her childhood?

I'm piecing this together from memory, but the gist of it is:
Her mother walked out on the family shortly after Teresa and her brother were born, then showed up a bit later. Her mother had serious problems and this led to her parents divorce. T ended up living with her mom, who was neglectful in a similar way to Adam's parents, letting her regularly travel alone on the 3 hour sketchy Greyhound bus ride to her father's house when she was as young as 8. Her father is kind and loving but married a woman who was Disney stepmother-esq evil. She referred to Teresa only in the 3rd person and was generally cruel and emotionally abusive, enough to give T her many complexes and an eating disorder.
Her death was the happiest day of T's life, and she won some kind of award for writing about it, which you can read here:

Due to their contracts being renewed for this year and Adam's cryptic reference to them still being "around" (in regards to podcasts I think?), I have some possibly empty hope that they'll switch to podcast only since that seemed to be their listener base and the figures they gave last week for podcast subscription hours was in the millions.
Oh god I hope so. I'm so distraught, it's almost comical. :smithicide:

I've had tv shows I loved canceled before and that's one thing, but this seems so much different because this was 4 hours EVERY DAY. It's an uphill battle but I have always been curious who would be the first "net" personality to do some sort of tv/radio syndication deal based on the success of their web show instead of the other way around. With his popularity with the web demographic and loyal following I think he has a real shot. Although unfortunately I know he will probably take some other deal long before this can get a foothold.

Kinda like Tom Green did in recent years?
(Re: Tom Green started filming his own freeform talkshow from his livingroom, going as long or short as he felt like and doing whatever he wanted to do, having whatever guest/friend would stop by. Broadcast on the internet only. Takes calls by Skype. Doesn't have to bend to censors or program directors. Edited down version of the show was picked up + airs nightly on The Comedy Network)

It would be amazing if Adam could get a setup like this going in the near future. He would be unstoppable.

He does get genuinely sad and sympathetic towards the most horrible abuse calls, but a lot of his concern otherwise is shown through anger (like full-on screaming at a woman who was setting her kids up to be abused by her partner and doing nothing about it).

Hey! Hoping someone can help me out. I am a die hard Adam + Drew era LoveLine fan, and I'm looking for some links to a series of shows that occurred after Adam left the show. I remember hearing them for the first time maybe 5 years ago or so, Adam came back to guest host with Drew for a week. I would really appreciate those.

The main reason I'm so interested in them is because they talked (a little bit) about why Adam left, and I remember it being partially about Drew not having Adam's back in a raise/salary dispute. If anyone just has any more info in general about Adam leaving that goes beyond what he talks about in his last proper LoveLine episode, or knows of other podcasts he's talked about it on, I would be super grateful.

Thanks!
