Oh yeah, baby. Frame your suffering as a masterpiece. Only one problem - no one's watching. It's boring, buddy, boring as death.

This doesn't make up for how poo poo White Crosses was.

Some melodic punk that takes me right back to my teenage years is about to drop from Anchors, a local Australian band.
Worth giving the song on this page a listen.

Anyone in Australia going to Soundwave? I want to see Lawrence Arms and Lucero, but I'm holding out for a sideshow. Touché Amore just announced a tour with Make Do & Mend, which should be fun.

Not going to Soundwave, just shy of $200 for a festival? Blergh from me. I had a great time going to the Kvelertak/Gojira/Mastodon sideshow and Thursday's last headline show earlier this year.

Bands I want to see at a Sidewave; Kyuss, Cancer Bats, Shai Hulud, The Lawrence Arms, Lucero.

Also, new Propagandhi is brilliant.

So to the surprise of no one Failed States absolutely owns. 'Note to Self' has to be one of the best album openers I've heard.

Is this the right place to gush praise onto the new Converge? I'm probably late but holllly shiiiiiiiiit. I've had so many 'albums of the year' so far, from all over the place, Gojira, Caspian, Make Do And Mend, Smith St Band but Converge has come and done a dump all over them, what a loving great album.

The new Shai Hulud finally arrived today and maaaaaaaan what a ride. This is some good 'old style' hardcore for me, the stuff that really made me stop genre hopping and stick to hardcore for a good long while. Get get get.

Managed to finally sit down and listen to the new MLIW and I think it's really solid. Not as much of a ball burster as Witness was for me but I feel like it has a better pacing than Midnight in America. Anything similar that has come out recently worth listening to?

Outright are a fairly new female fronted HC band who supported Propagandhi on one of their stops out here on their recent tour.

Huh, this was when I finally went off Against Me! after getting into them with As The Eternal Cowboy, they didn't seem as visceral anymore, kind of rote? Nothing with the energy of "Rice & Bread" or "Pints of Guinness Make You Strong" and Tom becoming Laura was actually a kind of trigger to a AM! throwback I feel.

Anyway, new Luca Brasi rules, catch melodic rock/punk https://lucabrasipunkrock.bandcamp.com/album/if-this-is-all-were-going-to-be

Just moved to Melbourne. Saw Mickey Erg for free (awesome), Screaming Females for free (awesome but said Brian Fallon was a jerk and Patrick Stickles was bipolar and hard to deal with, which he’s open about. Saw The Hard Aches, who sound like Smith Street Band but not a horrible creep (i’ve had conversations about Wil Wagner at every gig, someone cried all night when he heard the news, it still hurts). Discovered Timeshares, who are amazing orgcore, tho I have a crush on one of their GF’s. Got up on stage with old mates Mesa Cosa, missed Amyl & the Sniffers....

Give me more Melbourne punk/orgcore, join me orgcore FB group.

Just discovered Can’t Swim, they’re great.
