Speaking of emo, let's talk about Policy Of Three. Band loving rules, and gives off a little I Hate Myself vibe to me at least.

Speaking of emo, is anything new even going on? I know La Quiete are touring. I think they have a new split coming out soon, with Phoenix Bodies?

New Raein is real good but having to listen to it on MySpace blows.

What the hell is going on with Louise Cyphre these days?

The Thursday sample sounds good as well, I loved Full Collapse.

You guys should check out Trenches whose first album just dropped, it's kind of an ambient hardcore with some sludge. It kicks a lot of rear end, and what album with this cover wouldn't?

is this the trenches that did a split with cutting pink with knives?

A college organization I am in is running a hardcore show in late November, but we're having trouble finding bands that'll play. We're paying fairly well and have decent equipment and always good numbers at our shows. And we're in New Jersey for pete's sake--it shouldn't be this hard to find bands! A major problem that I think is occuring is that the show's set to be on a thursday night--would moving it to friday or saturday help things?

probably wouldn't hurt to ask, you know, the bands and see what they want to do

Dragonforce? Really? I mean, its a metallic riff, but these guys have been playing extreme metal for a while and you have to try new things

They should've tried something new within their own song instead of taking one boring sounding riff and repeating it for nearly a whole song, followed by a bridge and a breakdown.

Parachute Underwear posted:

I'm fine if they want to branch out now and then. They've been using the same types of riffs (not to be confused with the same riffs) for what, 6 albums now? Besides, it's only one song. I'll reserve my judgment for later.

I'll still listen to the album when it comes out but I'm not really expecting much. There will be a ton of kids that will eat this poo poo up though just because it's Converge.

Posted this in the metalcore thread but apparently it's more suitable here. Just finished mixing a demo with my new band which I suppose could be classed as hardcore. Or maybe just join a band that plays music like this instead:

Yeah, I wasn't entirely sure the Fall of Troy even fit in this thread but they certainly don't belong in the metalcore thread so this seemed to be the best place.

The self-titled and Doppelgangers album are pretty solid pieces of music. They kind of took a strange direction with Manipulator, but then they released the Phantoms on the Horizon EP and my interest in them shot up again.

They are killer live too, and they probably one of the coolest outros I've ever seen.

I remember liking the Ghostship demos when I was a teenager.
