Have you guys seen the True Norwegian Black Metal Documentary on Youtube? It's centered completely around Gaahl, and what an intense, charismatic, scary motherfucker he is. They visit him at his home in some isolated valley in Norway, the whole place is owned by his family. We see his art, hear a lot more about his personal views, and get to see what happens when doucebaggy filmmakers piss him off. Really interesting. Here's the link to part 1. Immortal is pretty sweet, as are Anaal Nathrakh and Emperor. Where to go from here? I don't like the obscenely raw stuff. My ears haven't fully acclimatized to the sound. Otherwise, I'm open to any suggestions. Would asking for a breakdown of BM subgenres be inviting too much controversey and nitpicking?
