Pitchfork has an interview with Leviathan, the dude that allegedly raped his then gf with tattooing tools. I personally really like his music. But can you separate the person from the art? http://pitchfork.com/features/show-no-mercy/8660-show-no-mercy/ It's a short read and the guy is not blabbing about the 'attitude' that BM artists should have. He does express a LOT of hatred though. I am sure that his album will be awesome.

Morbid Florist posted:I dunno, I like it, but I like gently caress the Universe better. Maybe work was distracting me during the black'n'roll/tremolo moments but I think FTU had more and better, and those were what got me into Craft (also a massively late convert). Avsky rules. Can't go wrong with a band that has a song titled "gently caress your values, gently caress your beliefs".

I've just read most of the thread but my knowledge of the genre is still painfully lacking. A friend recommended me 1439 but they're so boring Thulcandra is pretty straight forward Dissection worship.

Baron Von Ghoulosh posted:Until recently, probably the only major exports from Singapore I have appreciated have been superior electronic components. However, Impiety's Ravage & Conquer may have just changed things. A great majority may write them off as simply blackened/death Behemoth-esque worship. Nothing ground breaking or original, but good stuff never the less. Seems that they really don't trust the various teachings of this Jesus fellow either. Paramount Evil rules. Get it.

The Clit Avoider posted:Just go listen to the Aportian Demon album instead of maligning modern Burzum. Yeah this band rules. But what rules more is what the label had to say about it Label posted:For those unaware of what Aptorian Demon is, Ghash the main individual behind, is the original Keep of Kallesin singer/guitarist from the demo and 2 first albums which later the rest members stole the name and continued their own gay path. This is how KOK would have sounded today in their original form

a false posted:How do y'all feel about the recent crop of black metal inflected punk groups (Grinning Death's Head, Raspberry Bulbs/Bone Awl, Sexdrome, Horrid Cross, etc)? I honestly think they're better on average than a lot of the "actual" BM coming out around now with the exception of a few groups (specifically Bosse-De-Nage and Mutilation Rites). I welcome the convergence of genres and find it good for Black Metal and Metal in general.

I'm surprised no info about the One Man Metal, I found it very interesting. Here's what the AV Club had to say:AV Club posted:Hate, fear, misanthropy, and isolation: Such is the stuff of black metal. That goes double for the genre’s subcategory, one-man black metal bands. The first installment of a new three-part documentary, One Man Metal, sets out to expose and explore the underbellies of these artists: black metal practitioners who shun even the basic human contact of playing in a band with other people. Instead, they prefer writing, playing, and recording everything themselves, usually in a room that looks like a self-sentenced prison cell. Here's part one, it's three parts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQl6PzXU4cQ

Yeah let's not listen to cool music because they hate someone based on their race. gently caress God though, right? Isn't that a double standard? Just listen to the music, the message can either grab you or not. Listening to Arghoslent and Nokturnal Mortum haven't made me a Nazi or anything similar.
