The first is about a boy with a rat/mouse which is apparently magical and can talk. He and his friends go around stopping the crimes of some evil dude I can't remember the name of. One of the stories involves them stopping a gold bullion heist by figuring out something about articulated trucks in a convoy.


I'm looking for the title of something like this - it might be the same book. I think the kid could use telekinesis by saying a magic word with his animal sidekick. The title had something to do with how the kid was a genius, maybe something along the lines of "The Whiz-Kid"? I believe there was a story in which they went to a masquerade.

If anyone can figure the title out based on this description, I will be very thankful. It has been plaguing me for quite a number of years.
