Over the summer this was true, scrap car bodies were $250 a ton at any scrapyard. The bottom fell out months ago and the price is hovering around $50 a ton. Its not worth firing up my wrecker to pick up a junk car to take to the scrapper unless its free. And even then I only stand to make a few bucks after fuel and time spent.
