Not car related, but I wanted to share this bit of Craigslist gold -- Craigslist :argh: Tough Guy style:

http://columbus.craigslist.org/ele/974795445.html

Tough Guy posted:

For sale - Klipsch, Denon, and other audio and home theater audio equipment. All remote and manuals included.

Here's the story - I was very in to my audio equipment and bought all this stuff when it first became available on the market. Then I got married and moved. My new bride didn't particularly appreciate the incredible experience provided by this system and instead focued on the size of the speakers and how they didn't match her new drapes.

So this stuff went into storage for 5 years. I (wrongly) fantasized about having a basement man room someday. Well, we just moved again and we've got a kid on the way. It's pretty clear now that the man room is going to be a play room. Alas, it looks like have to finally let go of that dream.

So, in all, I shelled aout over $3500 for this stuff. No, it's not new, but it is all in terrific working order. If you love high-end sound, this is an incredible system at an incredible discount. 80% off what I paid. I'll even throw in a 21" Sony Microblack TV and some high end cables if you don't insult me by haggling.

Finally, some admin items. I've had some interesting experiences with craigslist. I love it overall, but folks, some of you really are, well, interesting. So if you'll forgive the directness, a few requests:

- If you have no intention of shelling out $500 for this stuff, do not contact me. Please let's respect each others' time.

- If we set up a time to meet, please show up when you say you will.

- If you show up to meet, please do not look at my wife like she's a lamp chop. She is a lamb chop, but she's my lamb chop. The last jerk that couldn't help himself from helping himself spent a night in the hospital.

- If you show up to meet and you make an ill-informed attempt to "lift" anything of mine that you are not paying for, take note of the aforementioned gentleman's fate.

- I am a friendly, easy going guy who would love to do business with you.

System Details: -omitted-

ARRRRRGH, don't touch my LAMB CHOP.

Damaged 1998 Volvo V70R Wagon / Parts - $900

Damaged 1998 Volvo V70R Wagon for sale. This is the model with huge engine power and sport driving function. Wrecked by a deer, no humans harmed. Damage limited to hood, front driver's side quarter panel, grill, headlight and bumper. We didn't even stop moving and airbags did not deploy. Beautiful black leather interior with diamond quilted panels. Picture shows vehicle before damaged portions were removed to investigate extent of damage. All pieces removed are included in sale except grill and front driver's quarter panel. Being offered for parts, as accident damage and faulty drive shaft exceed value of vehicle. Mileage is digital and not readily available. $900 or best reasonable offer. Cash only. Delivery unavailable, buyer must tow.

Oh really? Let me drive 30 minutes and take a look. 2 problems -- it was left outside for over a year since the accident and the weather had taken a heavy toll. Also, the woman told me that it "smelled hot" when they parked it last year... hmmm. Let's see, I'll take the bungie off the hood and see what's under there. "How far away was the shop that gave you the estimate?" "About 10 miles" "Didn't you notice that the radiator isn't even connected? :smith:"

Still a good buy for someone. The front and rear bumpers alone would bring several hundred, as would the nice sport seats with the suede inserts. Too many variables for me to do anything with it. Too bad...

MSRP is at $4000, you're looking at driving out of a dealer store around $4700. For the low mileage, great condition, and modifications its not too bad.
