I've heard of people installing weighted shift knobs for faster shifts (more mass=easier to get into gear), but they also make it easier to damage the transmission by forcing it into a gear that it doesn't want to go into. Given the condition (and tyte modzz) of that car, I wouldn't be surprised if the owner has managed to destroy most of the gears by now.
