I have a 20lb monitor I'd like to mount on a wall, ideally with plenty of stud support. The wall in question is from a home built in the 70s that appears to have studs spaced 50 inches apart. Is that impossible? Why hasn't the wall fallen down yet? Will public records blueprints tell me for certain where the studs are in the wall?

If the studs are in fact 50" apart from each other, what are my best options for a secure mount?

edit: ^^^ i demand a hanging stuff subforum
