BoostCreep posted:Has this been a concern on WK2s? I had a 2013 for a year and there were no electrical problems. I mean I guess any car can have problems many years down the road. Not really, just everything running through the head unit makes me nervous since it limits what I'll be able to do on my own. I did read of some people having issues with the quadralift. But don't believe it is common.

But the 5.7 and 5.2/5.9 are all decent slow gas guzzling pigs of motors. The 5.7 "hemi" in that model jeep is actually peppy and not terrible on gas. Yeah, the MPG wasn't too different from the V6. Hopefully in a few days I'll join you folks in the Jeep club.

Wamsutta posted:Love the Saddle interior, we have the same on my wife's 2011 Overland. The previous owner changed out the wheels on yours, those are not the 20's that come on Overlands. You got more tire meats, though, so you'll have more fun with it offroad. Looks good. Suspension is in full "up" mode in the pics, yes? Yea, the suspension was in OR2 at the time. I also think the 18" rims on there will do better for me. Looking to get some more aggressive tires before winter kicks in.

Just following up on this, as I am doing more learning about the WK2s (no one probably cares). The vehicle was apparently purchased with the "Off Road Adventure II" package, which swaps out the 20s for 18s. Now to shove 32" tires on there and hope it doesn't rub in Aero mode.

Thanks guys. I thought it was expensive for being a base model with very few mods. I think he just fell in love with the color of it, and is blind to the rest. Edit: he also was fond of the low miles on it, as well as the pentastar.

So my buddy ended up going with the Rubicon (and got a good deal on it). Yesterday we decided that taking them out on a trail is probably the best way to break them in. This guy was also hanging out at the top of the pass we climbed. Nor a bad view from up there. We went up Webster Pass from the Montezuma side, then back down the same way. My grocery getter did a good job, no where to get lattes around there though. http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=50

Orvin posted:How reliable are the 4wd systems on the new Grand Cherokee, specifically the Quadra-Trac II? I have been looking at purchasing one, but have never owned a jeep before. While I will likely never see off road, there will be 2-5 times a year that I have to drive on Chicago snow covered roads to get to work. Also, it seems to be impossible to get a jeep without 4wd in the Chicago area. I picked up a user 2012 Overland Summit last year, it has both Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Lift. No issues so far. I am up in the mountains and we get a ton of snow, no issues. As others have said snow tires make a world of difference. We drove it back to Chicago over last Christmas (hit a pretty big snow storm in Iowa) and it did great.
