Probably premature, but...

Vehicle: 1991 Jeep Comanche
Goal: bulletproof does-everything machine (general utility, rock crawling, rally raiding, snow plowing, wannabe go-fast, winter DD, salvage/recovery/repair vehicle)
Difficulty: oh god who even knows
Costs: $800 for the truck two years ago, around $2k-2500 into repairs and upgrades so far, likely another $2k when all's said and done, $8k+ into the gas tank to put things in perspective a bit

Vehicle: 1988 Jeep Comanche
Goal: fastish V8 street truck, summer DD
Difficulty: 3 different factory service manual sets open to the wiring diagrams, plus a welder
Costs: $500 for the truck, $500 for the engine/manual trans/transfer case/rearend/big brake conversion parts after parting out the donor and doing some trading, $300 interior and exterior facelift donor

Vehicle: 1958 Kaiser Jeep M54A2
Goal: haul anything, anywhere, "tow vehicle" for the 1991 Comanche but minus the trailer
Difficulty: easy, except for weight of parts
Costs: $2500 for the truck, $400 in fuel to drive it home, $1400 for tires, $600 for rims (not yet purchased), $900 approx. spent on repair parts so far
