Honestly, I really dig the tone. Its deep, its fat, and there's no top end. You have to be careful not to lose definition. Of course I've only played it with flats because that's how I dig it. The playability is wonderful. Its roughly a P-bass neck that has been finished black. The build quality is up there, but you can't intonate the bridge (its Hofner style with a piezo underneath). I always imagined using the dual outputs, but I never got around to it unfortunately.

The reason I'm selling it is because its heavy and neck dives. You think a bass with a plastic body would be light, but there's a huge chunk of wood in there. Some people don't mind neck dive, and that's up to the individual. Also I had back surgery in 3rd grade and again in 8th grade. So heavy bass + spine surgery = no good. It sucks that generally everything bass is super heavy.

I wanted to keep the tone but lose the weight, so I bought an Epiphone Allen Woody Rumblekat to replace it. Thus I must sell it. But if you dig the retro look, want something that will really get low, and can deal with some neck dive and weight then I would recommend it. I have a dodge-y recording of me playing My Funny Valentine in a latin style with it if you want, I can try throwing that up.

I'd love to hear a sound sample. Though, I admit I don't have much up for trade except for a Mac G4. Which you could probably sell or trade for a used MircoKorg.

Yeah, I'd rather just get a MicroKorg straight. I'm also interested in cash, maybe $340 + shipping? I've never shipped an instrument so I don't really know how much that would be.

Here's the recording of "My Funny Valentine." It was recorded in an auditorium with two condenser mics from a distance. So...lots of reverb. For reference I was playing through a Glockenklang Heart-Core head and 2x10 Genz Benz cab. Actually I can record some samples of it going direct since I got my music computer set up.

Regardless, for now here's "My Funny Valentine:" http://www.giborama.com/rifter17/MyFunnyValentine.mp3

Here are a couple miscellaneous items that I'm willing to trade (or sell for that matter):

Squire BP-15 Bass Practice Amp
Nice little practice amp I bought when I started to play bass guitar.

Ibanez SR-485 5-String Bass
I bought this down the road and then moved on to playing electric guitar. There's a hairline fracture down by the pots, which I don't think affects the playability.

Takamine Jasmine ES31C
Run of the mill beginner acoustic/electric guitar. This was my first one that I bought (I think) late 2006. Normal playing wear, no damage.

Washburn D10SCE
My most recent acoustic/electric guitar. Normal scrapes on the pickguard but no damage anywhere else. This one is less than a year old and still in great condition. The case would be included if the offer was good enough.

I have a DOD fx84 milkbox compressor that I haven't used in years. It works perfectly, and it's a metal stomp box so it's built to last. I'm looking to trade it for pretty much any other pedal (danelectro, DOD, , or any sort of tiny electronic keyboard (like casio sk series).

edit: I also have a m-audio 61-es midi keystation. It's in fairly good condition, some of the keys aren't perfectly lined up, but everything works on it. I'd like to trade this for a smaller midi keyboard, something with around 2 octaves, lap-sized.

I have an Italia Mondial bass. I bought it in December of 2003. Its in good condition and everything is in working order. I have it strung up with flatwound black nylon strings, which the original owner put on it. I liked the strings so much, that I never changed them.

Stuff I would dig on: MicroKORG, cello (although I'd probably would have to cough up some cash on my end), EBS Valvedrive + cash, and bass parts (bridge, ultralight tuners, pots and caps, etc.). I dunno. I'll also take straight out cash on the bass.

I'm also in Orange County, so if some OC or socal goons want to see the bass or something that would make shipping a ton easier.

I don't have any of those things to trade but how much are you looking at selling that thing for? I love obscure and cool looking basses.

My AIM is FFu 0 K (I know, I got it in highschool or something). I'm fairly interested if the price is right :)

I don't have the RC-20XL, but I do have an RC-2. I obtained an extra through a shipping error, so I can't return it or do anything with it really. It doesn't have all the same features as a 20-XL, so read up on it and make sure it would be usable for what you need. I use mine live with an FS-5U when I play solo to do loopy acoustic stuff.. it's really more of a gimmick than anything for me, it's fun/easy to try out new songs or jam with myself though.

It's new/unused, retails for $180. Just not sure if it's what you need.

I've got an Ibanez RG420FM. It's midnight blue woodgrain, and has a Floyd Rose locking trem system. The hardware was originally black, but has faded to a silver/chrome. Otherwise, the guitar is in great condition. The trem is currently blocked, but it's completely reversible. You may need a pro to set up the guitar initially if you don't have much experience with a Floyd Rose.

I'd be willing to trade for another guitar, cash, a POD XT, POD XT Live, or some variation. I'll try to get some pictures up later.

I'm bit ashamed to post this, but i have this Rogue (LX200?) fretless bass...

I bought it about 4 years ago because i thought it would sound awesome but it came clear that it's pretty hard to play; You have to look your fingers like all the time. It's in drat good condition and there doesn't seem to be any noticeable blemishes. I'll trade it for pretty much any working (non-fretless) bass guitar with strings on them.

Are gear requests allowed?

I'm looking for an Orange RK30 or RK30C, ideally the combo. I've got a Tiny Terror + cash I can trade if anyone is looking to downsize their rig. If you don't want cash, I can throw in a couple pedals. I've got a MXR Dyna Comp, Standard Dunlop Wah, Ibanez Tube King, EHX Micro POG, Boss Metal Zone, and a Boss Chorus Ensemble CE5, all in excellent condition.

Also, I've got a B52 AT-100 head. I don't really play metal as much as I used to, so I don't really need this anymore. The reverb doesn't work, but everything else is good.

Actually, if you want any of this stuff, I'll probably sell. Or trade. Let me know.

Washington state, and that'd probably depend on if I decide to offload some of my gear. I don't want to put money into music stuff right now all things considered, but I'd have no problem selling something to pay for something new. That way I can keep my music and general finances separate and it's also why I prefer to trade rather than buy or sell, but I see you're not up for a trade right now so it's moot. :)

Trades? Not so much interested at the moment. A pre-90 or custom 4 string neck through thumb would be on my list of wants. =D

I understand about trading up. That's what I've done over the past few years. Some I've kept for a while, some only for a few months. It is an illness and I have what I call my "illness closet", it is a closet that is lined with hard & soft cases of guitars/basses, etc.

With this guitar though, I'd like the dough, but if I sit down and play it, it is very difficult to see it go. It feels like a toy, and just plays so smoothly.

There is a guy who restores and sells these, though. I will see if I can dig up the URL for his website.

I have a gently used Line6 POD XT Live I would be willing to part with; I recently built a new pedalboard and would like to supplement it with a real wah and whammy instead of my Digitech EX-7, which I would also be willing to part with. I can take photos if anyone is interested; I haven't erased any of the original presets, and have only added around 6 user presets. I can supply all of the packaging and paperwork for the POD, and it has only left the house about a dozen times, and only then to jam in smoke free rooms.
