I could read between the lines. They wanted to see the alien.
There was a game I saw an article on years ago. It was a sidescrolling flight game. It had an intense sense of speed to it. I think the video had the plane flying right above some clouds. There may have been enemies to shoot, but the main visual focus of the game was just an insanely fast sense of speed. There may have been stunts involved? I vaguely remember being able to blast the plane forward to ram as an attack or something, but that might be my dumb brain making stuff up.

It lived somewhere around the PS2 to PS3 eras.

I'm trying to remember the name of a puzzle game that mainly consisted in filling spaces with water. I can't remember anything about it except that. It was in 3D. Possibly for PSX/Saturn/Dreamcast?

I dunno if I asked about this game before, but it's a really old browser game that probably doesn't exist anymore

You made a character with a class like mage, priest, warrior, rogue, what-have-you, and then the game had 2 sides to it. 1 was a solo MUD-like experience where you went through predesigned dungeons, fought monsters and solved puzzles and found treasure. But the main game was the 2nd side, which was a pvp arena, where you could use the stuff you found in the 1st side to fight other people and gain levels and stuff.

I don't exactly remember how battles worked, but I do remember spells/skills used a xdy system for damage, like in some pnp RPGs.

This is a hell of a deep cut, but it's been bugging me for months and I've never managed to sniff out even the slightest clue, I remember watching my dad play this when I was a kid.

Late 80s or early 90s
PC game (Reasonably confident it was for DOS)
Top down perspective.
The setting was on a moon/the moons of... Saturn? Moons of one of the gas giants anyway.
The characters were all robots, but the manual gave them names and personalities. I think there were maybe eight to ten of them, but I have no idea if they actually had gameplay differences.
I vaguely recall puzzles and movement being more important than combat. If there actually was combat rather than dodging enemies.

I think this is actually pretty close in visual style, but it was a more traditional brawler with multiple enemies.

I am looking for an old DOS-game, I think late 80's or early 90's.
Top-down perspective. You played as a red guy, and I think you only started out with a knife. I remember that you could collect several different weapons. Finding two of the same weapons upgraded that weapon to a better version, so finding two pistols gave you a handgun, that fired faster and further. And finding a second knife gave you a sword (i think). There was also a flamethrower, a machine gun and a crossbow (I think).
I also remember that one of the first things you did was finding (or building?) a boat to cross a lake, but I have no clue what the story was about.

e: also, while the perspective of the world was top-down, you saw your character from the side. Kind of like the first Zelda.

Does anyone remember an old arcade game from the late 70's where you controlled a fighter in ww2, you had a cross hair in the middle of the screen and you had to guide the targets in. It was in black&white from what I can remember & played more like you were in a turret, the consoles were a stand up affair with a joystick, I do remember once finding what must have been the holy grail version that had a motorised seat that you sat in.. 8 year old me was most impressed :)

This was in the UK & I'm sure someone must remember it.

Hey I need help finding a game that was on the forums a long time ago.

It was an 8 bit style, independent, experimental, platformer with a catch. Each player had a different experience because the code was changed for each players unique id. So some players would experence shorter jumps, god mod, more enemies, longer jumps, less enemies, and such and such.

I remember it was in purple and black style with a title for each screen at the bottom. You would move from screen to screen left to right.

The game was offered for free as a game jam game or something.

Please help.

This one is for a friend, he has tried to remember what this game is since we were both kids but has always come up blank. So it's supposedly a PS1 game where you play as an orphan or some kids or something and someone is trying to catch you with traps or something. Super vague but i'm trying to relay half remembered info from third grade him.

here's one that bothered me for a while. my brother either rented or bought and then quickly returned an og xbox game that seemed to take place in some underwater colony. Characters ran through these transparent glass tubes beating up large mobs of enemies. I guess it was an action game like GoW or DmC but the mobs were big enough that Dynasty Warriors gameplay might have been more appropriate? The character designs were pretty colorful/over-the-top, reminded me of Legend of Dragoon, and I'm pretty sure it was a Japanese game. Does this ring any bells for anyone

So there's one game I've wanted to find again for a while now; I think I only played the demo version. It was a space strategy game, probably from the late nineties. I recall pre-rendered 3d graphics, real-time battles on a 2D plane and being able to equip ships with stuff(like lasers). More interestingly, you could colonize a wide variety of planets, including the standard jungle, desert, magma etc., but also brown dwarves. Each planet type produced a few kinds of resources, like jungle planets producing aluminum and gallium(I think) while brown dwarves and magma planets produced diamonds and suchlike. These resources could be bought and sold on some kind of market, and I think there must've been some multiplayer component too, possibly even being the main focus of the game, so it may well be depreciated by now.

The closest I've found to that game was Pax Imperia 2, but that game seems a fair bit more primitive than I remember, and doesn't have some of the features I remember being in it.

The pre-rendered 3D and ship design sounds like Ascendancy although that game didn't care about resource minutia. I know Emperor of the Fading Suns did, and specifically had a resource for diamonds, but that's not pre-rendered graphics. Space Empires 1-3 were pre-rendered but I don't think it specifically named resources.

A friend of mine recalls playing a game on PC when she was a kid in the mid to late 90s which was some sort of educational game set on a spaceship. One of the puzzles was trying to make life in a terrarium by getting the right levels of oxygen etc. It had pretty decent graphics and was first person, and there weren’t any other people on the ship. She thinks part of the point of the game may have been uncovering the mystery of why the ship was empty of people.

We're trying to find out because her other main memory of the game is when she finally won, the spaceship exploded and she died, and that’s just loving weird. It's possible it was some kind of SE Asian knockoff game because she was living in Indonesia at the time.

Sounds like Mission Critical, which isn’t an educational game and there’s a bomb on the ship so she probably just got a bad end.

She had a look at Mission Critical and said there was too much writing on screen for it to be that. She would have been about 12 or 13 when she played it so we figure there's less chance that she misunderstood a bad end than if she was much younger.

It's not a perfect fit for what you're describing, but perhaps it's Rama? It's a mid-late 90's first-person puzzle game that takes place on a mysterious spaceship (mostly) devoid of life and there are also bombs on the ship.
