There was this mid/late-90s platformer that I got as a demo with something else that I don't remember. It may have had a duck as the main character, and I think the demo level was a mansion or temple. A large building, I think. There may have been acid pits involved.

There is a slight chance you're talking about Scarab, but it differs in a couple of aspects. You're a robot thing rather than a ship, and I only remember playing it in a deathmatch type setting. But it was definitely very blocky and set in Egypt.

Anyone remember a DOS game that would play out various WWII naval battles? It was totally black & white with ASCII art for the ships, you could play as different countries too. Wipe the British out with the Japanese and such.

There was a game for the NES that had something to do with collecting blue orbs and you play as a space rabbit. I remember the gameplay being kinda like Metroid. That's about all I remember about it, but it was fun as hell when I was 7.

I have one - there was this game for the Amiga or possibly Atari ST where you flew some kind of pointy-ish aircraft around an outdoor arena, trying to shoot down an enemy craft. It was in 3D with a landscape made of square tiles (but with a lot of topography, not just a flat space) and at the edge of the arena was a line of tiles to designate the boundary. It was presented like it was some kind of TV show, and the theme music was some famous classical piece - I'm tempted to say Beethoven's 5th, but I'm not sure. Maybe something like that.

ok, I remember this one game I played in the 3rd grade. It was an old game, basically you answered math problems at the start to get bullets, missiles and bombs and the like and you went on a bombing raid against a base, and you had to destroy the flag at the end. I had a blast with it, and I can't even remember the name.

Played an NES RPG when I was young, it was party-based, I believe, and involved a top-down view with your party represented as an arrow. There were random battles, during which you were sent to a typical battle scene. You couldn't leave the city because there was snow or a gate or something blocking the entrance, and there was a tower with eyeball monsters. The arrow-party is the most distinctive detail, I guess. Honestly, I can't even remember if it was in English or not, and I haven't been able to find it in any list of NES RPGS. Anyone have any idea?

I think it's a PS1 game, all I remember is it was a RTS or similar to an RTS, it was set in the future and you controlled a mech, you were the blue team or red team, and you could also capture turrets and build tanks and such. Another game that I believe was on the PS1, you were in a mech-suit and you went around a dungeon like maze and it was scary.

There was a RTS or sim-type game that took place in a space station, and had some humor elements to it. I had a demo, but I never found the full title to buy it. This was probably around the 1997-1999 time frame. Now that google exists, I'd like to see if I could find it to play it, as I enjoyed the demo and it reminded me of a kind of Dungeon Keeper in space (and god I wish someone would do another Dungeon Keeper.)

There was a 2D game for PC that I played in the 90s, it was all online and multiplayer. It was a space shooter where you started out in a dinky ship and had to build up points to upgrade various parts or to a better ship. There were three different sides you could choose from the beginning and depending on which side you got was which team you were on in various map. What was cool about it was that there was a bunch of different scenarios like collecting "ore" or just kill for most points.

I recall this little space fighter game. The basic premise was four different colors fighting each other. I think you played... blue? Anyway, what you needed to do was go around, and land on planets. Then wait for your home planet to automatically send out a transport to create a base at it, then defend it while preventing the three other colors from taking it. The objective of the game was to eliminate all the other colors. I also recall that it had a random temporary upgrade thing. Like, rockets, shields, more powerful guns, whatnot. Edit: Ah, I can answer my own question. Game in question was called Gravity Well. I found it on a reaaaallly old CD I burned a long, long time ago. Now, if only I could find the non-shareware version without going into piracy... Edwhirl fucked around with this message at 06:58 on Jun 13, 2008 |
