Warm Woolen Pants posted:Okay, I'm thinking of a shareware game I got off of AOL's games directory in the mid-90's. It was a top-down, grid-based, turn-based strategy game. You controlled 2-4 wizards, which were given a bunch of randomly generated spells, mostly summons, each of which was considered either light or dark. As you casted light or dark spells, a little yin-yang meter would fill up with whatever element of spell you just casted. The more light there was in your meter, the easier it was to cast light spells, for example. You'd make your armies and try to kill the other wizards. In the shareware version you had to face off against yourself, and if you paid it promised AI. I'd swear it was called Arena, but google has failed me miserably. I remember something similar on the old ZX Spectrum called 'Chaos'. Might be what your after: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_(video_game)

Captain Kevbo posted:Commodore 64 game where you controlled a spaceship and blew up bases (or maybe they were other much larger spaceships?). Top down and you could fly kind of like Raid on Bungeling Bay except you could also shoot in all (four, maybe eight?) directions. You had to destroy turrets and dodge obstacles when you entered the bases to get to their core which you destroyed. There was a gulf separating some of the bases that you had to cross that had enemy spaceships. Uridium maybe? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks5-Zq6XAN4

Just been playing some drunken escort games.. God! they are painful if your on the vip side.. They really need to make the vip have enough AI to fight & it also needs to be some over powered prototype with huge guns & loads of 'next gen' armour or something. It would make the game mode interesting instead of the usual boring "oh poo poo! Im an escort.. gonna lose" *edit* crap this was meant for MWO thread not sure how it ended up here.. im a dumbarse! Does anyone remember an old arcade game from the late 70's where you controlled a fighter in ww2, you had a cross hair in the middle of the screen and you had to guide the targets in. It was in black&white from what I can remember & played more like you were in a turret, the consoles were a stand up affair with a joystick, I do remember once finding what must have been the holy grail version that had a motorised seat that you sat in.. 8 year old me was most impressed This was in the UK & I'm sure someone must remember it.
