No, it actually does crush the cab. Remember, the SWAT truck has to swerve because the Batmobile is coming straight at it, and right behind it is the garbage truck. I've watched this shot about half a dozen times, and the cab does get absolutely flattened. I was actually wondering the exact same thing about this (how he gets around the no kill rule).
