What does everyone think of the Ninja 650s? I love the look of them (the old ones with the red parts even more than the new), but I've never taken one for a ride. It seems to be the almost perfect bike from what I've read. Quick, narrow, handles well, very practical etc.

I'm going to be I moving to SoCal this fall and will be looking for a new bike. The 650 is just about tops on my list. That is if I don't give in to my impractical lust for the new 600RR.

I really like mine, but after I got my F4i I just don't touch it anymore. I'm kinda of a speed freak and the 4 cylinder 600 is just too much fun for me to go back to riding the 650.

Plus I hate the high bars now that I'm used to the F4i's riding position.

However, oddly enough, I thought the 650 was more fun on the racetrack as it was so much more flickable and the torque made it really easy to power out of corners without a lot of shifting.

I had a 250 for 10k miles and for the money you spend to make it faster, just buy a better bike.

I can't think of a reason to mod out a 250 unless it's specifically for a race series.

That said, it's great for what it is and is the perfect first bike. I'm really glad my first bike was a Ninja 250.

Hoping to get out to my first @ SOW next month.

Nope. This particular corner is on the 2nd set of hairpins heading up, before the first lookout. It is hard to tell though, a lot of the corners are very similar.

Sorry to hear about your SV. :(

When Is your SOW track day?

I've been meaning to go and next month is exactly when I was going to do it. I'll either take my F4i or my zx6r track bike if I can replace the pistons in time

Anyone who thinks an I4 600 doesn't have enough power for the street even off-idle is a lovely rider. It's trivial to blast out in front of traffic from a stop with minimal clutching slipping even with the clutch fully engaged in 1st at 2000rpm. I do it everyday.

that yellow bike looks like absolute torture to ride. Bars at your knees, no wind protection, and terrible mirrors. :psyduck:

Is it that bad?
