This one was a popular 2s side scroller coin op, say mid 90's? You controlled a fighter who is battling his way through multi levels of a castle/fortress. Along the way you can free prisoners who then follow along as your ally tossing out ranged attacks. Some of the allies are a white wizard type, a black counterpart wizard, a ninja that tosses bombs, and a powerful gargoyle beast you can force into subjugation if you have the correct ring on. I want to say Golden Axe but it's not that.
