Er, I *think* that you're thinking about Super Ghouls N Ghosts with the Princess and the different colored armor...

Sort of sounds like SGNG yeah, allthough there's no deleting any stuff like savegames in that. Anyway check out my old LP of this : http://video.google.nl/videoplay?docid=-3339339781343944391 , is it that game?

Anyway a game ive looked for myself a lot, and asked before in other threads here but havent gotten the correct anwser yet is an old game. It's for one of those old "computer in a keyboard" type computers like the commodore 64 or MSX or any other type. Im sure it wasn't a spectravideo because i had that one myself. The game itself is a helicopter game, you fly a helicopter through a series of caves. I remember there being pretty big maps, and it got pretty tough to get through some parts.

Here's a little mockup that i made from memory:

I have no idea if the colors are right, but there were multiple levels like that with increasingly narrow paths the deeper you came. No idea what you were doing either, maybe rescueing people from underground. No idea if there were enemies or not.

So does anyone have an idea?

Might be Fort Apocalypse. You can't see it on that screenshot, but you could fly underground through maze-like tunnels and rescue people.

Thats the anwser i got last time to but i dont think thats it, i just watched a vid on google video. I think the game was uglier and the levels were simpler, with all the lines and levels like in the picture, and no fancy traps like that.

I have a pretty easy one. I distinctly remember a FPS game on the PC (might have gotten console ports of some sort) from a few years back that had "realistic" smoke physics. Like if there was a pillar of smoke emitting from somewhere and you shot through it with a rocket/machinegun it would twirl and react realistically.

At first I thought this was Unreal 2 but after replaying that it apparently wasn't. Someone else suggested that it was Quake 4 and I've reinstalled that also but haven't really run into any of that fancy smoke/particle stuff. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? It's a few years old by now and I'm betting I remember it much more awesome than it actually was.

If i remember right Unreal Tournament 2 had those smoke physics, not just unreal 2.

Well first of all it was on a keyboard-computer, but apparantly choplifter had a C64 version i see on youtube, but thats not it, it's not underground in caves.

The problem is that i have no idea what kind of keyboard computer it was, theres dozens of these things. The keyboard-comp wasn't mine, it was of an old friend from my childhood (i tried asking him once but he had no idea anymore either). I think it used carts that went into the side of the keyboard but im not sure. I cant remember any other games on it either. I remember the game because i thought it was awesome and would like to play it again.

This is a really long shot, but could it be H.E.R.O?

Don't think so, had that anwser before to. It seems similar but it's still different. I think the keyboard comp i played it on had uglier graphics and there were more tunnels on screen.

If only i had an idea which keyboard-comp it was. It must have been some sort of c64 clone, and theres dozens of those things :(.

This kind of reminds me of the C64 version of the Airwolf game, if that's any help.
I know there was another game in the same vein by reLine for the Amiga, but I'll be damned if I can remember it's name.

Now this gets me somewhere. Thanks to reline i googled and found 2 games,

Spaceport: http://www.lemonamiga.com/?mainurl=http%3A//www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php%3Fid%3D982

And through that i found this:

Fortress Underground: http://www.lemonamiga.com/?mainurl=http%3A//www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php%3Fid%3D2401

Maybe it was one of these clones. Cant play em now but ill try em when i get home.

Another one from years ago, I musty have been less than ten so my memory could be off on some parts. It was a 2D side scrolling platform game, I think the combat was swords or melee based, it was pretty basic anyway. The bit I remember is that you collected potions: red, green, blue and yellow. There was a screen you could bring up and mix the potions together and different combinations did different things. At the time it seemed cool and random but I expect it was actually fixed depending on what you mixed. I think this was on the Amiga (500/600).

This kind of reminds me of chakan, a genesis / megadrive game:

I've got one that just popped into my head and is driving me nuts. It's hard to believe I didn't imagine it up, especially since I don't recall ever even beating the first mission. This could mean the game sucked eggs, but I'm being driven by pure desire to know.

But way back when, I rented a game that was either for the PS1 or N64, and it was a strategy game I believe. Could have been real time or turn based, but it did have that overhead isometric view that we all know and love.

All I can really remember is that you summoned elemental golems to fight on your side. The thing is, I seem to recall these being mapped to the C-buttons on the N64 controller, but I've looked over the N64 release list and nothing is sparking a memory. That's all I can remember. :v:

One of the few, if not only strategy RPG's on the N64 is ogre battle 64. It is that probably. Or maybe a fire emblem game, allthough i dont think those were in english back then.
