2. Was an arcade game I played years ago. Sidescrolling action game again, and the player characters look like ripoffs of Ryu/Ken from Street Fighter/ characters from DragonBall. It also had a dominant sci-fi theme with lots of really weird organic aliens as enemies.

This might be Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight. It featured "Ken" and had just exactly what you're talking about, bioorganic aliens and whatnot. It was a pretty fun game.
