Just finished Star Wars. Overall, I give it 8/10. Some harsh bits by Bill against the movie in general, but lots of funny stuff. It's always funny to me when the riffers make each other laugh during the riff.

New short is up - Shy Guy. Features a very young and socially awkward Dick York (the first Darrin on Bewitched). Soon to be followed by the Self-Conscious Guy.

Watching the restored/colorized version of The Little Shop of Horrors. The movie is filled with horrible stereotypes and the acting is way over the top. Sample exchange: Seymour: "But I gotta keep a little blood for myself or I'll be in worse shape than Mom." Mike: "You'd have to die and partially rot to be worse than Mom." Edit: After a scene in a detective's office: Kevin: "It's like Dragnet with gay actors." Mike: "So, Fagnet, then?" Kevin/Bill: "MIKE!" Just finished Jaws. Good, but not great. I'd give it a 6.5/10. More quiet spots than usual for a Rifftrax.

I usually get the full video (if I don't already own the original movie) and burn it to a DVD. You buy it, it's all yours. Some of the shorts were DivX, but they've pretty much abandoned that.

A lot of people want Rifftrax to be more like MST3K and do crappy low-budget stuff. The problem there is getting your hands on them. Let Cinematic Titanic handle those movies. Hell, I'd like to see them do Blade Runner or the Godfather series.

From a December 2007 interview: Mike Nelson posted:Well, my favorites don’t necessarily tend to be other peoples’ favorites, that’s the way it kind of works. If you still have the DVD, try the handy-dandy Rifftrax DVD making guide: http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,413.0.html I've done every Rifftrax with this guide and it's amazingly simple. The only real work is syncing up the audio track with the Rifftrax in Audacity (and that might take 5-10 minutes). For about 95% of the ones I've done, once you line up the first sync line, the rest fall into place with rarely more than a quarter of a second difference. There are a few that require Muxman over IfoEdit for various reasons.

Just a few minutes into Empire and Chad Vader gets off a couple of good ones: When Luke's tauntaun appears: "This was Jim Breur's screen debut." In the base when C-3PO and R2-D2 are walking down a tunnel: "Here come the longtime companion bots."

Starting when the guy starts playing the song and Britney is "singing": Mike: "I suppose it's naive to hope Ben has kicked has kicked out his stool and set the piano on fire at the end of this jam, huh?"
