And it looks like Rifftrax is releasing its newest creation iRiff http://www.rifftrax.com/iriffs rifftrax posted:Just create and upload your humorous commentaries on anything, set your price, and we'll do the rest by hosting and distributing your content. You'll even get your very own product page to promote your iRiff. Best of all, you share in the sales of your iRiff! We will feature the best tracks on the RiffTrax home page and the funniest stuff will rise to the top based on our user comments and star rating system. I'm actually pretty excited about this. The "Batman and Robin" fan written rifftrax, I thought, was excellent, (but most others were just all pissy because their jokes weren't chosen for the script). Hopefully, some others are able to create some descent riffs and the whole idea doesn't get inundated with poo poo performers. Ninja Edit: It's coming in October

Yeah, it was such an common problem that they have an entire stickied thread dedicated to it here Also, has anyone taken an interest in some of the other iRiffs that have been released? I just watched the sample for Incognito Cinema Warriors(which seems like the most direct MST3K copycat, with a human and two robots and a silhouette at the bottom) and the sample was pretty funny.

I wouldn't mind contributing with a small group of goons, but if there is a mass goon collective organization working on a single script, things might get...heated, and I'll probably do my own thing.

Krenzo posted:I watched the iRiff of Speed, and it was hilarious, one of the best I've seen. My only problem is that the stupid riff player made the commentary track about 5 seconds early from the point the bus came in to play until the end of the movie. It was fine before that point. No amount of rewinding, fast forwarding, changing chapters, or restarting the program fixed it. I think I'm done with the riff player as it always seems to get out of sync. However, I've never had as much problems with it before. The only reason I prefer using it is because of the audio ducking. Similarly, I watched the Lady Frankenstein iRiff by Incognito Cinema Warriors XP and it was hilarious (if you can ignore the blatant MST3k ripoff). I've even gone so far as to search for even more of their stuff.

So I've been re-authoring for quite some time now and the end result has always been pretty good with the exception that I cannot get the subtitles to work. I've been using the guide here and I've been through that entire thread looking for a solution. Has anyone re-authored with subtitles? How the hell did you do it?

I always rent the rifftrax movies from netflix and whenever they do the new ones I always have to wait weeks before they become available to me. And Iron Man, The Happening, and now this one are all on long wait from Netflix. Man its going to be forever before I get to watch a new Riff. \/\/\/Yeah I just checked it when I added Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to my queue. All my rifftrax movies are "long wait" or "very long wait" status. Savantegarde fucked around with this message at 22:52 on Oct 22, 2008 |

Revolvyerom posted:Name one in particular for me to start from? I've been avoiding them so far. Incognito Cinema warriors doing Lady Frankenstein is great, it's the closest thing to a MST3K episode you will come after the shows cancelation. The only downside is that its about a 7 or 8 dollar investment, but you get a solid download that includes the movie, rifftrax, and even some skits. Also riffraff theater doing Speed was also very funny. I invested in their Tron, but although it had its moments that was a bit more meh.

Plavski posted:The Two Towers was nothing but a string of obscure references to people. Just endless barrages of jokes that miss the mark and a ridiculous degree of people jokes. Every second joke was just saying an obscure name and it was quite, quite boring. You could tell they were really struggling for jokes and their energy was rock bottom. It seems like they just wanted to get this out of the way and the forced nature of the riff is probably the reason they still haven't done a Return of the King riff yet. I think your copy of Two Towers riff must have been defective, because I remember the Two Towers riff being excellent and nothing like the abortion you just mentioned. Different strokes, I guess.

Now who didn't see this coming from a mile away... And two face is apparently half green. Lately their superhero riffs have been a dime a dozen, there last riff was X2 and now this. I wish they would do a little genre exploring... Savantegarde fucked around with this message at 03:53 on Dec 4, 2008 |

I'm not pissed that they're doing Dark Knight, I just wish they would move away from the superhero genre once or twice a year. I just saw "The Strangers" the other day and thought how much it needed a good riffing. The Grudge was one of their first riffs and it was hilarious and it seems that they didn't do any other horror riffs after that. And that's a perfect genre to plug away from. And I wish people would move away from a good move = bad riff mentality, I'm pretty sure that rule has been violated enough times that it no longer can be considered valid. quote:EDIT: oh and don't go to the Rifftrax forums. Currently they're fighting about the riff being in poor taste because Heath Ledger died. Some of those people are loving insane.

I have to admit, the small section introducing the Dark Knight Riff is pretty hilarious.quote:
It reminds me of the thread we had a while back in which people were debating whether or not Dark Knight should get the best picture Oscar. And all the hyperbole remarks being made by some of the faithful.

Well I got the iRiff "Friday 13th" because it seemed to be getting nothing but praise on Rifftrax.com and just some thoughts for anyone who is thinking of picking it up. First, from a riffing standpoint, it's pretty solid. There were several laugh out loud moments and many of the jokes were ok. The riffers have kind of a cool gimmick and they don't rely on it too much. However, from a technical standpoint, it's an abomination. Their track is so quite that I had to digitally manipulate them to make them louder, but also the movie track to make it softer. And their own track loses sync, I have no idea (aside from sloppiness) how they managed to do that but it made reauthoring annoying and even so my end result sounded de-synced at some points which sucks. Overall, the fact that this riff has a higher score than Incognito Cinema Warriors and riffRaff theaters, both of which have awesome iRiffs, smells like shenanigans to me.

If IFO edit has a problem then I switch it over to a lighter program known as muxman. However, muxman doesn't handle subtitles very well, but IFO edit also doesn't really do that great of a job either so :/ (subtitle ripping still seems more of an art than a science).
